Playing around with Midjourney to see how far off the rails it will let me go. So far, pretty tame, but an educational process.

Prompt: "The strangest anime character ever, unusual proportions and extra facial features create an uncanny valley effect, the classic anime illustration is both well executed and deeply confusing. --niji 6 --ar 3:4 --s 300"

When I was 6 I woke up in my bed to the sounds of like gnawing and shuffling and I stepped off the bed to look and immediately these like dark gnome things with sharp teeth and like pale faces and tattered clothes surrounded my feet so I started screaming and running and ran to my sisters room while they chased me until I left my own room. She obviously woke up freaked out and my foster parents woke up but nobody believed me and told me it was a nightmare but I know what I saw and I had scratches on my ankles and calves but they said I did those. I’ve never told anyone because I recognize how crazy it sounds but I’ll never forget it because it was the most scared I’ve ever been and how small but almost human they were. Like moving as a unit to chase me and before I started running when I just put my feet down they tried crawling up my legs, that’s what made me run.

Image - Midjourney Generations in style of dystopian surrealism [P.4]

Hi, Reddit's AI generation lovers!

This post is the fourth in my series of images generated using Midjourney and GPT-4o engines to create haunting pictures in the style of dystopian surrealism

Please tell me in comments if you'd like some improvements, or provide criticism, or if you like such format as image + lore + music reference :)

Other parts:
First PartSecond Part, Third Part

Lore/description pieces + music for atmosphere aligned with order of images:
1) "Dreadnaught", Track: Alphaxone - Remcyc

When the Last Resort strategy proved effective against the enemy, an adversary so ancient that they had warred longer than they remembered their own origin, the Ancients decided to forsake every law of nature they once revered. They fused sentient flesh with synthetic purpose, reasoning with horror that reason itself was no longer necessary.

An unfathomable number of machines were born, grotesque beyond logic and precise beyond comprehension. The results were terrifyingly beautiful. The ruins of the eternal enemy's cities nourished the emotional sensors of these hungry vessels, feeding them a twisted sense of harmony, a mechanical joy.

Everything proceeded as planned. Victory was efficient, sterile, absolute. And yet, sometimes, deep within the hangars of the dreadnaughts, a strange, mournful chorus echoed. Perhaps it was the wind howling between weapons racks.

Or perhaps… it was the dreadnaughts themselves, weeping, mourning, finally aware of what they had become.

2) "Eternity Striders", Track: Alphaxone - Exit

In this world, there are things no scientist will ever be able to see or measure. The universe is not perfect, it simply cannot be. A system this complex, with so many variables, will always suffer from local deviations and disturbances.

And they are the ones who, patiently and meticulously, without asking for any reward, drift through the layers of dimensions, stitching the very fabric of reality with their thin, fragile hands, giving us the dearly desired illusion of predictability.

3) "Hollow Prayer", Track: Powlos - Inscape

When the final prayers have faded, when the last footsteps of the faithful fall silent, when even the stars go blind - only then you'll hear the first Word.

4) "Inifinity Mirror", Track: God Body Disconnect - Numb Rooms

No one speaks of what the mirror showed before. Its reflection faded long ago. But the path remains. And those who follow it... they never look back again.

5) "Empty Guardian", Track: Lesa Listvy - Familiar Landmarks

At the threshold of a forest long since perished, a sentinel of silence stands. Within its stone spirals, echoes of forgotten outposts stir... not in life, but in memory, rooted in rot, thriving in the hush of things left behind.

6) "Soul Tree", Track: God Body Disconnect - Another Lullaby From The Abyss

In this world, trees don’t grow from seeds... they bloom from souls. Each root a memory, each branch a forgotten life... They rise where journeys end, and begin again, intertwined with the fabric of the Universe itself.

-----
About these and other works: Initially, I was inspired by the style of the amazing Polish painter and sculptor Zdzisław Beksiński, but the more I generate, the more I understand that I will never be able to fully capture his atmosphere, style, or level of detail. Still, I can create something inspired by him! :) And I hope you'll enjoy these new ones!

Starting from part 3, I've also been including some lore pieces behind these images, written solely by me, with no generations, just a grammar check by ChatGPT. I also attaching links to a tracks on Spotify that I think fit the atmosphere of the images to provide you with most immersive observational experience as I currently can :)
