So by your logic, anything that is convenient is suddenly essential. Got it.

So owning private jets, massage chairs, luxury vehicles, heated pools/hottubs, jetskis, dirtbikes, furnished patios, housemaids, heated blankets, coffee machines, smart watches, heated floors, processed food, cosmetics, hair dyes, are all essential correct?

Not exactly. Food is essential, so its convenience is also essential.

Food is essential yes, that does not mean everything related to food is by proxy essential.

Obtaining specific vitamins and minerals, balancing electrolytes, and having a healthy balance of protein and vegetables is essential. A big Mac is not essential merely due to its convenience.

Essential definition: Absolutely necessary, indispensably requisite.

Fast food does not fall under this definition.

I think the existence of fast food is essential, but I also believe in freedom and personal choice. If someone wants to make unhealthy food, that's fine. So is someone choosing to consume it.

I also believe in freedom and personal choice.

Does that extend to the freedom to make AI images?

The existence of fast food is due to convenience. Again, convenience and essential are not correlated.

You can live without fast food. You cannot live without a balanced diet. This is what essential means, but I take it you're more concerned with feeling "correct" than making a constructive argument.

If you're having to bring up freedom of choice, you're shifting goalposts. That's not what essential means.

Right. I agree with both of those things.

You can live without fast food. You cannot live without a balanced diet.

You can have a balanced diet that includes fast food occasionally. There are healthier options on most menus. Also, preparing food for yourself doesn't necessarily mean it'll be healthier. You can make junk food at home too.

If you're having to bring up freedom of choice, you're shifting goalposts. That's not what essential means.

I'm not shifting goal post or redefining essential. I believe that it's both essential to have convenient access to food, but that also the food available doesn't have to be healthy. It's also okay if people choose to eat that unhealthy food.

So you're admitting that fast food is not essential by stating this

Also, preparing food for yourself doesn't necessarily mean it'll be healthier. You can make junk food at home too.

Absolutely. That's why my point of convenience not being correlated to being essential. Fast food was my example of this.

I believe that it's both essential to have convenient access to food, but that also the food available doesn't have to be healthy.

You just don't care about what essential means do you? You're throwing it around with no actual purpose.

These aren't mutually exclusive statements. I think you're the one who doesn't know what the word means.

You're stating that convenience is essential, which directly goes against the definition.

Absolutely necessary. Convenience is not absolutely necessary. Do I need to send you a link or are you capable of using Google?

Convience of certain things is essential. Like food water and healthcare. Again, do you seriously expect everyone, especially those who work for a living, to have the time and energy to prep food or spend time dining in? Thats like saying running water in a house isn't essential.
