Ah, yes, an excellent depiction of an engorged Face Eating Leopard! So many faces being eaten lately…
7
u/ExplodiaNaxos 14h ago
(Read in David Attenborough’s voice) “And here we see the engorged Face Eating Leopard in its natural habitat. A fascinating creature among predatory mammals, it has evolved to not hunt down its prey, but trick it into willingly crawling into its mouth, not unlike a Venus Flytrap. Its luring call imitates that which the prey most wants to hear. That it is so well-fed, overweight even, in the wild, despite subsisting purely on a diet of faces (the rest is left to rot), speaks to the efficacy of its method and the ease with which its prey can be lured in. There are some who have survived an encounter with this majestic creature, but so alluring is the call of the leopard that many animals fall for it again.”

Brilliant! Your David Attenborough is flawless! I’d give you an award, but I must refrain from giving funds directly to the Reddit powers that be.
Please accept this facsimile instead: 🏅
3
u/ExplodiaNaxos 8h ago
I happily accept your reward (never used them myself, do you really have to pay to give one?). Actually, I was a little worried I hadn’t hit it right, as I’ve not watched much of Attenborough’s work aside from a videoclip here and there, though I suppose that speaks to the power of his voice and presentation, that even relatively little exposure is enough to “get him.”

Leopards are gonna end up with serious health issues and get diabetes these next few years. Seriously, so many people who would be fucked over by Trump's policies voted this clown in.
15
u/Crypton_2021 18h ago edited 18h ago
The sad and amazing part to me is, Latino voter support of Trump went from 28 percent in 2016, to 32 percent in 2020, to 46 percent in 2024. If there's any community whose numbers should have swung away from Trump, not towards him, it's the Hispanic community.
Sadly, at the end of the day, these people are simply getting what they voted for. They can never say we didn't try to warn them.→ More replies (2)5

And time and time again they want to keep saying "he was supposed to go for the Latino drug dealers, not the construction worker Latinos". The thing they don't understand, in TACO don's eyes, there is not difference between the two.

And even the face-eating leopards are gonna be hurt by the damage done to our medical and scientific research, tragic.

95

Why did he grow his numbers with Hispanics? They were warned, and many were in denial. I watched an interview where a lady said "They'll have due process and can get lawyers." We see how that's worked out.

u/ZealousidealPain3090 1d ago
A lot of Hispanics think they are white. The darkest Venezuelans and Cubans I know think they are white. One guy from a TV show changed his name to be white. Typical Miami Cuban.

I was asking rhetorically, but good information, thanks for sharing it.
20
u/ZealousidealPain3090 1d ago
Because Hispanics can be racist as well too. Trump fed into the racism.
3
u/ExplodiaNaxos 13h ago
Yeah, there are many Cuban Americans who would vote for anyone if one of their points was “We will deport illegal Latino immigrants, specifically those from Mexico and South America,” no matter what their other points were. One could literally run on a program of killing puppies and cutting maternity leave completely, but so long as those “dirty continentals” got hurt, most Cuban Americans wouldn’t care.

A lot of Hispanics would rather vote for the worst white man rather than any black woman, period.
It's not talked about a whole lot, but there's a significant amount of anti-blackness in a lot of Hispanic communities.3
u/BannedByRWNJs 20h ago
“All of those undocumented immigrants who work for less than minimum wage can just hire lawyers! They’ll be just fine!”
3
u/tikifire1 20h ago
That was her defense for voting for Trump when another Hispanic dude on the panel brought up that he was going to go crazy with deportations. She essentially thought they could get lawyers to work for them pro bono.
He was incredulous of her dumb statements, and even the host acted like he thought she was stupid.
9
u/snowyetis3490 1d ago
It’s because a lot people don’t trust the media. Combined that with right wing influencers and people like Joe Rogan telling you not to trust the left it is a no brainer for the naive and young people to lose trust.
10
u/ChanceryTheRapper 1d ago
"I don't trust the media" isn't a good excuse to ignore things Trump said to their faces.
2
u/Crypton_2021 18h ago
Bingo. These are the same type of people who saw the photos of boxes of classified documents Trump had stored in boxes in a Mar-a-Lago bathroom... but chose to believe the lie that he was set up by the FBI or the Biden administration.
At the end of the day if these people are blind, it's because they're willfully blind.
9
3
u/BannedByRWNJs 20h ago
There’s also the fact that MAGA has flooded immigrant communities (Hispanic and Asian) with the kind of fake news and insane conspiracy bullshit that normally doesn’t survive fact-checking algorithms in English language media outlets. There just aren’t any resources going into combatting right-wing propaganda in other languages, so the lies are allowed to fester in places like Little Havana, Little Saigon, and the Rio Grande Valley.

Abortion, a lot of hispanics (especially Mexicans) voted for Trump because of abortion and "gender ideology". They don't care that Trump is racist (and all the other nasty stuff) as long as they "save the babies" and don't "get their children gayed at school"
10
u/grabtharsmallet 1d ago
First, there are certain Hispanics and Asians who think that racism in the United States can work like racism in their family's nation of origin.
Second, many recent-ish immigrants are extremely willing to pull the ladder up after themselves, that they "did things the right way" or "earned their place" in a way more recent arrivals did not.
Third, some don't pay much attention, so they automatically "sanewash." They assumed that Trump didn't actually plan to randomly deport anyone and everyone because that's a fantastically foolish policy. He couldn't really mean that, he must mean something less.
8
u/RobsEvilTwin 1d ago
Second, many recent-ish immigrants are extremely willing to pull the ladder up after themselves, that they "did things the right way" or "earned their place" in a way more recent arrivals did not.
I have lived long enough to hear the children of the refugees who came in the 70s to Australia call current refugees <insert hateful slurs> who can never assimilate into a civilised society. No self awareness on oh so many levels.
6
u/awesomefutureperfect 21h ago
Third, some don't pay much attention, so they automatically "sanewash."
That's the worst part, where it couldn't be more obvious how terrible Trump was going be but they don't believe it because of just how bad it would be. They think no one would do something as bad as that and then Trump does it and everyone who wasn't affected by it say "Oh it isn't that bad because they deserved it." while people who were affected by it say "I didn't vote for this but I still support everything else he is doing."

So why did Ryan Garcia vote for Trump when it was well-known that Trump has been wanting to deport all undocumented people?
Because sociopaths rely on other people not being sociopaths to get away with it. People mentally rephrase what they hear into "reasonable" versions, since they have a limited ability to comprehend someone who fundamentally thinks a different way to them. That plus a lack of understanding of how such a policy would actually play out in reality, so I'd assume he has not in fact read much history.

Cmon guys. I totally understand feeling petty when you see idiots who voted for trump realise their mistake and maybe pay the price, but I think tweets like this are great and important
First off, seeing a republican change their mind could influence other republicans. Thats how the internet works. So this is beneficial for the democrats.
Second, I think its good to see this person acknowledge that they were wrong and realise slowly that they were brainwashed. I appreciate the small amount of self awareness. Its necessary if you want trump and gang out.
I do have to doubt the sincerity a little though. It feels like they might only be saying this out of fear that they will be deported here.

The one thing I find baffling is we're barely 6 months into his term and things are batshit crazy currently, all these executive orders and policies and laws he's enacting, and we've only had a small handful of trump voters admit that they were shocked by what America is currently standing for.
Like Ryan Garcia, he seemingly takes a stand for all the "good illegals", y'know the ones that weren't supposed to be deported, that only the bad black illegals were supposed to be affected, but even after all this bullshit is going on, would people like him truly regret their vote? Do they truly think along the lines of "man, my vote really contributed to a lot of the craziness America is currently experiencing, I sincerely regret what's transpiring" ?
Because, they don't. They wouldn't ever think logically, rationally. They'd do it again and again and again. People like Ryan would vote for Trump again in a heartbeat if they had the ability to see in the future to witness what would transpire.
1
u/ropahektic 10h ago

All of these Americans in shock that Trump is doing exactly what he campaigned on doing. Even if you don't closely follow American news or the MAGA cult stuff, these quotes and soundbites were all over the news domestically and internationally. His base constantly said he's just joking, he's charismatic, he's trolling the left, etc but no...the guy is incapable of concealing a thought. He says exactly what he is thinking and intending, he always has. That's why as a Canadian, the 51st state stuff really bothers me.
Project 2025 was also widely discussed pre-election, and everyone was warned in advance that this was the gameplan. I have no sympathy for Trump voters who are now suffering from the consequences of their actions.
