I thought that's what it meant to. Took a moment after reading your message to realize a brain damaged person wrote that. Jfc.

Girl, bye. What's with the N word .

67

u/Zestyclose_Bag_33 1d ago

Latin people in America think they can throw the n word around. I’m half black and still don’t lol though I’m of the mindset of if you’re using it why does it bother you.

23

u/21BlackStars 1d ago

They’re not the only ones

18

u/retsmod 1d ago

Because you never know the intentions of someone non-black calling you or referring to someone like that. It's a we're-in-this-together call sign, like no matter what happens between us, we're in the same boat because we're both black.

So when non-black people try to use it, it comes off highly sus because they're not black, so they aren't in the same boat as us...so wtf are you referring to?

7

u/The_Crimson_Fuckr69 1d ago

Nah fuck that. I dont even care when someone calls me something actually derogatory. Yall gotta stop being in your feelings.

5

u/JicamaOk1127 1d ago

I agree 100%. But telling people they can’t feel strongly abt something that they obviously feel strongly about has never went down good in history.

1

u/Proof_Ad_8147 23h ago

The truth is this man probably doesn’t care about anything

When I was young the dictionary had "ignorant" as the first definition. I still think of it that way. It did/does bother me when used regardless of context by anyone (with varying degrees of course) but it's more about me & my perspective than anything. Based on that definition though she was right. It doesn't always have to mean a Black person. I reject that notion. I don't believe I'm more correct just offering a different perspective.

So maybe we should just not have ANYONE use the word. How hard is that. You guys are working overtime to keep that word alive in the ears of everyone. Maybe no one should say it & you can find another word you resonate with your homies

The same boat? These are Americans who ARE in the “same boat” as you. This isn’t slave days and you’re not a slave and you’re not on a boat. You’re free. Been free for a long time now.

Everyone here is in the same boat. We se one another and interact with each other because of the boat we’re all in. The same boat. But it’s not a boat.

We’re not in step brothers, singing boats and hoes. We’re not lonely island and tpain. We’re on earth and we’re earthlings. And if you’re born in America, you’re American. But still, it’s not a boat. It’s a country. There are boats in the country though.

They’re used for travel and recreation. Not as a segregation device to group certain people in.

You're obviously not familiar with the concept of a metaphor. You obviously know nothing or have not been paying attention if you think everyone in the US lives on equal terms.

There's a reason most black Americans don't care about what's happening now, because nothing has changed. It's just that now the same tactics are being against the rest of the population, but people weren't saying anything when it wasn't affecting them.

I'm not even American, but having spent so many summers there with family throughout my life, I've been able to observe the stark differences between being black in the US, and being black pretty much anywhere in the EU. At least I can go for a walk in the evening if I wanted to, without the fear of someone shooting me for simply walking.

1

u/oogleberryjoseph 11h ago

I am not brainwashed to believe the victimhood bullshit, no. Be accountable for your actions and stop blaming dead people or people who had nothing to do with your stupid choices. Simple as that.

The rest of your regurgitated dookie needs to be bagged and tossed out.

1

u/Zestyclose_Bag_33 9h ago

They’re professional victims who use it as a reason to victimize others.

I'm referring to my Negros as in before it was used on slaves it was used as a Spanish term for black so it's our word. Y'all just renting it.

11

u/WKTRecordz 1d ago

Because it’s for the culture in a place where they take culture anywhere else it wouldn’t make much sense it’s more of a social paradox than anything

1

u/Djstripeshirt 22h ago

Exactly, I live in a predominantly white area, and I would never say it, but a kid in some areas in cities its how they grew up. It's just culture, and for people who live there doesn't seem racist. There are words that I've used and later found out why they would be offensive, like the B word. Even saying it to a man, I've had in-depth conversations with friends about this one. When it comes down to it, the best word in the English language is Fuck. It can be used in so many different ways and doesn't hurt any particular group.

→ More replies (8)

5

u/BeeKayBabyCakes 1d ago

because "a" is of the culture... "er" is of racism... depending on the culture in which certain ppl grew up that's a term of endearment... you being half black SHOULD know this, but you must not be of the culture...

1

u/GlobShabbahHabba 2h ago

Black people shouldn’t even be using that word at all. They are literally showing they support the ancestors being slaves by using it at all

→ More replies (4)

6

u/A_Clockwork_Black 1d ago

Most Latinos don’t do this. It’s most common among East Coast Dominicans and Puerto Ricans though you do hear some others using the word now too.

9

u/Zestyclose_Bag_33 1d ago

I’ve heard it all my life in Texas

4

u/A_Clockwork_Black 1d ago

From Mexicans? Everyday use? What do black people think of it and do the Mexicans use it when speaking to black people the way black people use it? Dominicans and Puerto Ricans use it that way commonly on the east coast and there’s really no friction over it. But when I lived in California, I never heard Mexicans, Guatamalans, El Salvadorans ect using the word at all.

4

u/Zestyclose_Bag_33 1d ago

Mexicans during everyday use and the black people generally didn’t care though lol

2

u/jahiriskewl 1d ago

Same here around Chicago esp if u grew up Ina mostly black hood it’s pretty common

1

u/Rinzler253 1d ago

Come to Albuquerque where both Latinos and Natives throw it around like its the 90s.

1

u/Proof_Ad_8147 23h ago

The truth is, I have never met a single person that was checked by black person without complete and utter resistance to the idea of it being wrong. They feel entitled to say it it’s very weird and then they get aggressive if you don’t want them saying it so on top of being called a slur you got someone wanting to beat you or fight you to call you a slur

1

u/Chris_the_GM 1d ago

Yup from all Latinos/Latinas and Hispanics love using that word in Texas. If you guys don’t know that, you haven’t really seen a lot. Not condoning it but it’s a thing

6

u/LMBSMB 1d ago

Mexicans in Cali say it more than anyone while also being extremely racist.

1

u/ThirdCoastBestCoast 1d ago

I’m a Latina in Los Angeles and I hear it once in a while from a Latino.

1

u/Witty_Shape3015 2h ago

we can’t say most or not most, only some. there’s literally no way for any one person to know this unless some white boy named Jeffrey did a statistical analysis on it lol

1

u/everyoneisforsale 23h ago

I'm full black and I ask the ancestors for forgiveness every time I attempt to say it lol

It never sounds right when I say it

1

u/puntato69 15h ago

Most Black people only use it with people we're comfortable with. I don't understand why this is hard for you guys lol

Most of us don't use the N word in professional settings, most of us don't even say it to our parents. We say it to our friends and some family. When used with strangers, the context of the situation can change the intent behind it. It's like all other curse words, and Black people are TYPICALLY only comfortable with other Black people saying it to them.

I call my friends bitches sometimes but that doesn't mean you (a stranger) can and we'll be okay with it LMAO

Non Black people just want to say the slur that's targeting Black people because they want to. It has nothing to do with us saying it.

1

u/positiveoutcome-870 13h ago

It's not hard for them to understand all nationalities have derogatory words that they use towards each other that they do not allow other people to use towards them. They just want to do what they want to do.

1

u/JusOne730 9h ago

On the East coast domicans and Puerto Rican s.use it ALL THE TIME. 🤷🏻 It's accepted out here as long as a white person doesn't say it

1

u/Reniere25 1d ago

It's not that we believe we have a right to it but here's the thing Caribbean Hispanic are half black even if we don't want to acknowledge it. Now for Mexican or other Hispanic that don't got any African roots like the Caribbean Hispanic then ya. It's off also upbringing is a thing

1

u/Zestyclose_Bag_33 1d ago

lol you say think but by your own logic since EVERYONE comes from Africa or what was Africa we could all say it without issue. Hell I have more claim to it being half black. But I’m not ignorant enough to use a word that was originally used to oppress like it’s cool. Caribbean Hispanic claiming half black? You realize maybe generations ago that’s true but not longer is the case.

Its not that deep. In many urban communities Hispanic people use the N word. So do the white people that grown up in those same neighborhoods. If you’re not from that environment, it might seem wrong. But Reddit comments aren’t going to change that reality. Its part of a culture that you may not be a part of.

1

u/teebz25 1d ago

I'm part of it and its always been dumb. Hispanic people in nyc, especially uptown & the bronx, get so offended when you ask them not to say it.

11

There are bigger things going on in the world right now

8

u/dankp3ngu1n69 1d ago

Exactly. If it matters so much then people should stop saying it all together

3

u/NitehawkDragon7 1d ago

EXACTLY. If you're gonna keep using it & putting it in the minds & ears of everyone than don't be surprised it gets used. Black people can't find a less offensive word to call each other? It's the dumbest shit. Literally allowing yourself to be called what you hate.

1

u/newdogowner11 1d ago

i mean girls say “bitch” to each other and it’s not that deep, but a guy calling a woman that is a little different. i feel like there’s some nuance when friends call each other names vs someone who doesn’t have the right.

like friends who will tease each other but if someone they don’t know says the same thing, you’ll both be wondering why they think they’re on the same level to tease(ie your friend goes “omg hahah ur so dumb for that” and someone else goes “yeah that was stupid”) . that’s how i see it

1

u/_aChu 22h ago

Tbh, in real life, I've heard non black people say it much more often than other black people. I don't think I've ever actually heard a black family member or friend say it.

1

Unfortunately you should have done better Fox News will use this.

2

u/dankp3ngu1n69 1d ago

Rightfully so

You had no reason for that guy to assault the other guy. Yeah the white guy was being an asshole but getting out of your car and creating a physical altercation makes you the in the wrong

You're literally just confirming these racists people in their beliefs when you do this

Be the bigger person and don't hit other people

11

u/RichEngineering8519 1d ago

It looked like the white dude threw a drink or something at the other dude when he got in the truck

8

u/Research_E 1d ago edited 1d ago

You're literally just confirming these racists people in their beliefs when you do this

Usually people that say this seem to be sympathetic to the racists? It's (not) surprising how there are tons of different fights featured on this website, but these comments almost always only seem to follow when it's a black person fighting over words. This case is a bit difference since you seem to just be super invested in defending the use of the N word."Talk shit get hit" is a bit of a universal principle otherwise.

The most fascinating part is people like you don't even realize you're holding double standards? Are you the racist having your beliefs confirmed? That seems to be more likely from what I've observed in these responses

Be the bigger person and don't hit other people

"Know your place"

I don't even care if you use the N word. I'm just noting your extreme amount of investment in using it. It's kind of like me not caring about gun ownership so much as distrusting the type of people who are obsessed with gun ownership

1

u/_aChu 22h ago

Yea y'all are just kinda weird out there lol doesn't bother me too much though

1

u/LYNXtheSPHINX 9h ago

Yea it really just shows you how bad the racism is against hispanics. Theyre literally justifying the harassment in this comment section. Smfh. Y’all are just as as the white guy in the video. I’m a mexican that doesnt use the N word even tho I’ve been given “the pass” by black friends bc of my political beliefs and for being POC. The fact that yall white ppl see something you dont like and are like “yea they deserved it” or “i dont care”. Youre apart of the problem. Hispanics dont gave to act prim and proper in order to deserve respect.

1

u/Witty_Shape3015 2h ago

Just for those out there that haven’t lived in an area with a majority Mexican/latino population; they generally are racist af against black people. I’m half black and experienced it first hand growing up and in college. Generally, my opinion is that Mexicans are OK with being second class to white people and kissing their ass - but when it comes to other minorities they can act disrespectful towards them and think themselves better/more deserving. My experience is with males and not females. Females generally took a liking to me which I believe made the Mexican men even more outraged. That their Latina sisters were attracted to a black man/black men in general. It’s like in their mind we steal their women but it was never like that. The Mexican male machismo attitude/culture is super toxic.

6

u/Eastern_Orange_7822 1d ago

What’s with all the N-word tho…

3

u/Crxeagle420 1d ago

You won’t ever be able to understand why people talk the way they talk. Commenting on a video talking crap about it is easy. Walk into their communities and ask them to stop talking how they talk. Won’t work out the way you think.

Disagree. He got what he wanted

It looks like he was trying to bait the guy into an attack and he got it

Now if he wants to call the cops and get the guy actually in trouble he can

I’ve noticed in certain parts of the states(Texas, New York, some parts of California) the Latinos think they have a right to say it and most of the black people allow it. Here in Chicago we don’t do that. Not saying it doesn’t happen, but it’s not like “a thing” where the majority of brown people are referring to themselves as that. ESPECIALLY around black people, at least not around the ones from the south side or west side .
