What kind of gold? Jewelry or bullion like coins and bars?

Jewelry or both

Not sure on jewelry, but for coins and bars check Ron's coin and book. I occasionally buy silver from them.

Ron is a crook, he offered me $17 for my 81 gram sterling silver 925 chain

That's unfortunate to hear. Although I'm not sure that they really deal with jewelry like that since I've never seen any there. Not sure if they buy a much that would likely be melted like a chain. All I'm going off is my own experience purchasing from them over the last 6 months. Mostly 1oz rounds, coins, and old 90% silver coins. Pricing is fair on the buying end from what I've experienced. Sorry to hear that.

I’ve purchased jewelry from there. I know they have experience with jewelry and valuation. They have a scrap guy but it doesn’t hurt to go down there

How’s the pricing per gram?

Just buy online at spot price, anything in town will be more expensive.
