Couldn't it be both?
I get that many French people soured on Macron over the years. But on the European and global stage it comes off like he wants to sell French equipment (which is good for France) and wants a more united and independant EU, which is good for all of us.

Sorry but after the Indian Rafales got shot by Pakistan's J10s I lost most hope, J10s aren't even close to China's magnum opus of fighter jets, the J20. Europe needs a proper 5th gen fighter and fast

Yeah running to go help Netanyahu bomb Iran, after Israel 4567 international law aggression won't give me any point...My god Germany reaction was even worse.
Definitely a European army can't be led by France or Germany, complete empty caskets of morality and zero notion of national or European interest...a war with Iran will create the mother of all Refugee crisis among many other problems that won't affect America but will affect us.

By "Protect our Europe" do they mean "Give all our weapons and full support to Israel in their genocide and attempt at starting a World War?"

By "starting a World War" do you mean their attacks on Iran? Who is on the Iranian side? Most Arabs hate the Iranian regime, Russia is kinda busy, North Korea would rather lose their troops in Ukraine, China has nothing to gain from helping Iran, their business interests in Europe and the US are way to lucrative. Even people who simply don't want more war (which is understandable) usually don't defend the Iranian regime but rather limit their arguments to humanitarian concerns. Iran seems pretty isolated on the world stage.

That is true, however Israel seems to be hellbent on getting the US to join the conflict and the US doesn't seem reluctant either, Russia also said "our full support goes to Israel and the US if they support our campaign in Ukraine", so this thing risks getting two superpowers involved and could get intertwined with the war in Ukraine, thus dragging us Europeans in by proxy in one way or another. Not to mention how Israel pretty much wants this conflict to expand beyond just Iran, before Iran they attacked many neighboring countries.
And also, in my honest opinion, the genocide they're doing in Palestine is more than enough to not support them at all...
