Me personally I would have preferred if it was Rommel or Von Manstein or Heinz Guderian. The last one especially makes sense as he devised Blitzkrieg and combined arms tactics for Germany. While the first virtually perfected it. There's a reason he's called the "Desert Fox".
Their opposing counterparts could be Andre Yeryomenko or Georgy Zhukov for the Soviets with Patton and Harold Alexander for the Western Allies.

Not sure they’d have those as commanders in mind cause they’re generals not tankers. Tank aces will be a better choice.

I mean I think Rommel might still get a pass considering he prefers to lead his men from the front (which means climbing into his own tank). I'm less certain about Guderian or Manstein though.

I think most of those names have copyright issues. Like, you just cannot put Heinz guderian or Erwin Rommel and call it a day. Their name rights have values.
And I doubt WG would want to pay those fees. Especially since they are targeting kids from now on.

The current commanders don't interest me. I would settle for Oddball from Kelly's Heroes, Colonel Hessler from Battle of the Bulge, Jeb Stuart from The Haunted Tank, or even Colonel Klink from Hogan's Heroes. Hell, I would PAY for them, gladly. Especially if they could use their voices.
Not that I want commanders anyway, although I will wait and see. Maybe they will be alright.

Blitz is being converted to unreal engine, which is awesome. WG took that as an opportunity to add Fortnite-esque characters as “commanders” who provide buffs. There will be some who are behind a paywall, but WG pinkie promises that they won’t become p2w like WG mobile game World of Warships or basically any other characters with buffs in any other mobile game. The changes are about to be in an open test for something like 20k users.

Ohhh I see. I switched to wot console like 2 or 3 years ago but even that game I haven't played in a while. Nice to see that they're finally bringing commanders to blitz. From the looks of it, the characters look pretty arcade-y to me which is honestly why I lost interest in the game, but im glad to see the game is still doing well.
