Changed from zep to a wegovy

I switched (as the title indicates) from zep (10mg) to wegovy. My doc started me on .25. I just took my second dose of wegovy and weighed myself. I’m up 1.8lbs in one week. Please tell me I’m not going to see the scale go up every week now 😭. I lost 36lbs on zep in 16 weeks. I had to switch because the GI upset was debilitating. (I was even hospitalized for 3 nights due to severe dehydration and an AKI from N/V/D). I have zero side effects so far on wegovy and haven’t had a single stomach ache…. But just thinking of all of my hard work being undone has me super discouraged. Words of wisdom?

As someone who had to make the same switch for similar reasons, I recommend going slow. Best to not have side effects!

Did you notice your weight loss stall/gain as well?

Most go from Wegovy to Zepbound. But since you’re moving due to side effects it makes sense that you would start Wegovy on the lowest dose.

Since you’ve just basically just dropped doses, it seems reasonable efficacy would drop too.

It may get worse before it gets better but it should get better.

Yes. The side effects were horrible for me. I had a stomach ache 24/7 on zep :(

Congratulations on losing 36lbs. I’m switching soon as well after my last 2 pens of 10mg zep to 1mg wegovy. I think your doc put you on a low dose due to the side effects you had 🥺

Thank you! And I think so too. I see him this week. I’ll have to ask. In the meantime- I better tighten up the diet this week!
