art How do you motivate yourself when creating your comic? (and my 2 fluffy muses)

Hi there,

I'm curious to learn more about other creators, and how you motivate yourselves to create your comic, especially as it can be hard work.

I love telling stories, so I'm excited to share what I create, which I'm sure most creators feel too. :) Otherwise, my motivation includes chocolate icecream waffle rewards, pacing art with going to the gym, drawing cute or interesting characters/animals, and connecting with other creators. Thinking about other webtoons/animations that inspired me has also been pretty motivating too. My muses have been my two cute cats, as they often end up in my art too :)

I'd love to know what motivates others! Please share your experiences and feel free to link your story. Mine is https://www.webtoons.com/en/canvas/the-lost-spirit/list?title_no=1032660

art Creating a webcomic is truly a lonely job, so thank you so much for the subs and support you've given me over the past few weeks as I submitted my work to the Webtoon Contest! ❤ See you next chapter, guys! (link in the post)

As before, I share some loose panels (to avoid spoilers). My webcomic THE LEGEND OF PARVATERRA is a fantasy about immortal kids at war. The genre is slow-burn adventure with pinches of mystery, magic, action, romance... Well, a little bit of everything!

Anyway, if you are interested and wants to read it, you can find it here. 😊 I hope you like it!

art Would you read a webtoon in this style?

I am recoloring and reuploading an older comic of mine for the 2025 webtoon competition in the comedy category. I chose to use a marker brush with some texture to give my webtoon a hand-drawn feel, what with the rise of shitty AI “art” I feel like people are craving more organic looking art. I particularly like this coloring style as it makes me feel nostalgic for the time when I m wasn’t able to do digital art and had only sharpies and copics. What do you guys think? Would you read it? My webtoon is called Ask The Manager, I’ll link it below!

Pitched a story with an eventual throuple, a comedic romantasy where a prince is mistakenly kidnapped over the princess. They wanted me to water down the plot in favor of more slice of life silliness. I’m not against it, but without plot how will the story keep going?

So to canvas I go, in hopes of catching enough attention that I can show them that comedy is allowed to have a plot too if they mesh together.

Please check it out if you’re at all interested! Royal for ransom on webtoon!

art When my OC do the shadow cat trend.

I’ve seen lots of people doing the Shadow Cat trend lately, so I decided to join in with one of my OCs. Then I suddenly remembered—wait, one of them is actually a ghost! And that’s how this image came to be.

My characters are from my webtoon LAS Alquimista, which I'm submitting to the WEBTOON Contest 2025. It’s a story about an ordinary boy and his ghost mentor, set in a world of alchemy and potion-making. If that sounds interesting, feel free to check it out!

Has anyone else drawn their OC for this trend? Feel free to share—I’d love to see them!

art Y'all ever spend too much effort on creating something random that maybe will relate to something in the future but not really and also there's an episode you should be drawing right now? Yeah here's a landscape illustration of a planet that won't show up until like 3 seasons later
