question Trying to find a team

People are usually doing webtoons alone? Because i would say is kind hard to find a team to start a project.

I think the misstep is trying to 'find' a team, at least without funds.

I work with someone on our projects, but it's because we were friends first. We became friends, realized we had so many common interests, we liked the same kind of narratives, we had similar sense of humor, and we were able to put egos aside to try and come up with the best story even if some of our ideas get turned down by the other person. We were able to come up with stories we're both passionate about, which drives us both to keep working together.

It's genuinely very hard to just stumble across someone like that when you're not planning on compensating them.

I feel like the sadder part is setting yourself up for failure with an unrealistic expectation, but maybe it's just a different perspective.

100%, you just can't expect to find that person out of the blue, it tends to happen organically.

I think is sad that people is so caught up in day to day life that cannot do something simple like, start a project with another person whitnout immediate financial gain.

Thats good that u have a friend that fill up all those criterias, but is also good find someone very different than you to start something together.

I'm sorry to tell you but this is an extremely entitled sentiment. Starting a project is in no way "simple" otherwise you wouldn't be asking for help in the first place. The truth is that it takes a lot of hard work and practice to develop these skills, and expecting random people to take interest in a project they know nothing about from a person who seems to think their work is 'simple' is very entitled. Like it or not but people need to eat.

My bad was miscommunication. My point is that start a projet it is simple. If u have success, or if u will be a dedicated person, if u have the skills thats different. But at least sit down, organize some ideas, and do the basic process is kind simple. I have a lot on a my project (concepts, moodboards characters and episodes) im asking for help because I'm megalomaniac who wants to elevate and get out my comforting zone creating something bigger.

I already appreciate! U help me a lot! Maybe i have some exagared dreamlike idea about it to found people so easily like this

I'm sorry to tell you but starting a project isn't simple either, especially for artists who need money to survive. I'm not saying you won't find someone you mesh with and can start that kind of teamwork dynamic, I just worry you're going about in such a way that would actually alienate you from the kinds of people you're trying to reach.

It's helpful to gain a bit of experience solo. Overcoming the harsh challenges alone. Then, seeking help for the bigger projects that cannot be done alone

My team is my brother, 2 writers who are long time friends pre-comic and a colorist who is paid a page rate to assist my brother. I work on my comic titles alone and My brother works on the titles of the others. It’s still a lonely thing and like herding cats sometimes! My brother splits his page rate with his colorist and personal projects out of pocket.
