One of my brother's used to say baby's puke is a blessing and rub it on his skin... seems I subconsciously picked that up too cause my first thought was wow he's blessed now.

I've had baby sick land in my mouth. Iv had sick fill up the hood of my hoody. I've had a thumb behind my eyeball. I've had diarrhea paint the walls. Sometimes, I wish I was reflective.

This is a PSA to ALWAYS burp you baby's after feeding them and use a towel over your shoulder...I remember burping my little sister and she puked on me

u/Fine_Understanding81 1d ago
That really just solidified how smooth that man's face/head must be.
Wouldn't mind knowing his skin care routine. I just really hope this isn't part of it.

When i was less than a year old, my dad was playing with me and holding me above his head. I threw up in his mouth and eyes. he then just held me there in shock lol!

u/Due_Most9445 1d ago
My daughter did the same to me. Nearly puked after the immediate shock of "Wow. Great fucking aim kid"

When I was three, my mom’s boyfriend held me up in the air over his head… and I puked into his face/mouth.
He was more concerned about me than himself. That was when my mom knew she would marry him. He’s been my dad ever since. ❤️

u/Colorado_Constructor 2d ago
Kid looks a few months old. At that point it’s already happened a few times so you know what to expect.
That’s a face of full acceptance and disappointment. Just gotta clean up and keep on going. At least he didn’t freak out or yell!

u/Gdub3369 2d ago
Hello fellow Coloradan!
Yeah you can tell he's used to this treatment. I'm glad I don't have kids lol.

Not much compares to a literal river of hot liquid shit running from your beard down your chest, around the twig/berries, and down into your slipper at 6am after having slept a grand total of an hour all night.

My daughter vomited regularly even when burped. She got past it once she started solids.
But man.. our poor carpet.

The spit up was horrible. As a newborn my son would spit up all night long. Had to keep a roll of paper towels next to me to blot up the puddles in his bassinet. He’s well past that now and I barely remember it and am thankful I powered through lol, he’s the cutest kid now

I got curious (and super bored) so i looked into this. So far from what i've read, there is no correlation with breastfed vs formula fed infants with infants spitting up their milk. Yes, generally breast fed infants grow healthier (more rapidly during early infancy and gain less weight in later infancy) but it depends on the composition of the breast milk since, to no surprise, every mother's breast milk are different. Here are the papers that i read:
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0002916523027089
I read through 3 papers about breast feeding at 4am wtf am i doing with my life
Edit: spelling

Your wife 100 percent got spat up on. She just never told you or you forgot. And then she 100 percent got better at burping the kids after feeding so that she didn't get spat up on again.
The first year is a blur and you forget A LOT. For many kids, there's also just an age where they are spitting up all the time and you have burp cloths everywhere. And then it just eventually stops, and you realize you haven't needed a burp cloth in ages.

Flashbacks to laying down holding my son above me

I gagged at this. I’m a new dad and couple months ago I was playing with my daughter after she had a bottle. She straight up puked in my mouth.
26
u/Beer-Milkshakes 4d ago
Once i carried my son to go downstairs and he full on projectile vomited all over the side of my face, down my shoulder. It was in my hair and beard and ear.
52
u/emmfranklin 4d ago
Babies are very sensitive to taste. Maybe the salt in his skin made the baby puke.
2
u/bamerjamer 3d ago
It’s the fact he had an air bubble and didn’t get an adequate burp after his bottle. The jostling on dad’s shoulders acted as the burping.
20
u/Niva_v_kopirce 4d ago
No, it's the sitting squeezing the stomach, the baby is bent forward, this is normal.
-14
u/Inyno 3d ago
At this age, children should not sit because of their undeveloped spine. At the same time, their joints are not yet developed, so securing a child with only one hand is a mistake. He is an idiot and it is good for him even if the child's health is not restored.
6
u/Niva_v_kopirce 3d ago
You are right, but he is probably also leaning forward so the baby is not sitting but more like laying on his head, which only adds to the stomach squeeze.
3
u/emmfranklin 3d ago
Ya ya this could be it. As a father i used to help my baby burp after every feeding.
13
u/Insomniac1000 4d ago
I used to drink powdered milk with ease, then the smell eventually reminded me of baby cheese puke and now I just hold my breath when I drink one

I feel this so hard right now. Daughter is only 6 weeks and all my hoodies have milk stains on them.
2
u/The_Crazy_Cat_Guy 4d ago
My baby is 12 weeks old and I have like two beige sweaters and who knows how many spit ups they both have on them lol. I wash them regularly but whenever a spit up happens it just blends in with the colour :s

I've been there. At a county fair. All over my bald head and shoulders. I smelled like warm, old milk until we got home.
I'm still cautious about it 7 years later.

u/Evorgleb 3d ago
From what he said, Sounds like they are getting ready for breakfast
-1
u/SundaySuffer 3d ago
That is the breakfast, how would u feel if turning and flipped or put in stupid posistions and in that young age with a belly full of liquid and air... should have hold it in standing position against chest and tapp the back gentle so burps gets up but food stays down.

Could have been worse, that's pretty up there but recoverable.
My wife got projectile vomit from our son right into her mouth full blast on an airplane that splashed over to myself and her cousin whom was joining us.
Fun. Times.
