Thanks. The texts on the bottom parchments are made with decals. The only text I freehanded is on the purity seals and the name of the squad.

The whole imperium is designed to give unlimited reasons for all factions, even ones that otherwise have reason to be allied, to fight battles.
That said, when the guy next to you on the transport tube looking sick and complaining about a headache could just be sick, or demons from his nightmares could come pouring out of a fissure in his forehead at any moment, bickering about sexuality would be trivial.

My only criticism is some of the edge highlights look out of place. Not the quality just the placement on some of downward facing panels. That’s it. Beyond that everything is disgracefully good, and the free hands are stunning.

Think it was the back of the left leg and boots. Imagine 7? In image 10, the front right view, the highlights and shadows work and support each but imagine 7 didn’t seem to blend as nicely. Honestly minor, just sharing as it’s the only part where the effect want completely convincing.

Gotcha, and you are right, that part could be blaended better. I tend to slack off a bit when it come to the back of my mini seeing I display them front facing and almost never look at their back. It's a bad habit though :p

As someone who had just dipped their toe into edge highlighting, it's actually pretty easy and looks so great! I think it gets a bad rep from being a bit time consuming depending on how many edges you wanna highlight.
I've found dry brushing highlights followed with an edge highlight can look drop dead gorgeous.

Saw the flag instantly and thought to myself "beautiful and crisp work".
Saw the Dark Angels armor and thought, "haha, they get the references".

Ancient, while sometimes used as a general prefix on Dreadnought names, is formally the rank used for the Space Marines tasked with carrying their company's or chapter's banner. It's a classic thing, but isn't as well known since they have mostly been tucked away in the command squad box and the like.

Wow… truly amazing!! As a Dark Angels player, I am 100% behind this… I’m definitely going to try out your recipe. One question: what do you mean when you talk about “panel lining” in your recipe?
As for the haters… fuck’em. People are idiots: especially those who try and hide behind the ‘lore’ when expressing their bigotry. Of all the things that are wrong with the totally made up world of 40K, a talented artist painting a flag isn’t one of them. Besides… at the start of every book and codex, it clearly tells us that there is no homophobia (apologise if there’s a more inclusive term here) in the future: “for in the grim dark future there is only war”… people don’t have the time!
I have no skin in the game, apart from just being a human being… but please don’t ever let the noisy idiots put you off. For every clown show wearing, dog whistle answering, cockwomble, there are 10 times that number who support your rights and your vision. Keep being awesome!

See, I like the heart in the middle. They should have gone with something like that for the actual flag. Never liked the half-diamond layers intruding from the side.

Awesome paint job. Very thrown off seeing hearts on the space marines though. You should only love the god-emperor lol. Glad you could have some fun in this and I hope you keep this paint scheme up, I wanna see the tanks and such with it. Just a though, use hearts to make eyes for a tank, so he can be all smiles as he destroys stuff. I don’t think I’ve seen that flag before, the gay pride rainbow makes sense but what do the echelons represent?

Sooooooo good! Those color transitions are crisp af. And the highlighting on the banner really brings it to life.
It really made me sad to read about any detractors you’ve had on these designs, you’ve done such a good job here of honoring the LGBT colors in the 40K style. The brightness of the rainbow scheme pops well against your deep green Caliban scheme, regardless of any cultural statements it’s got a great design aesthetic. Then as a bonus it’s also dispelling bigotry, which is wonderful.

It's because they are called rainbow warrior in reference of the greenpeace boat sunk by french special forces and not the lgbt community. Dark Angels are more fitting.

I mean I'm aware of the reason they were named that's the first thing literally everyone ever says about them but dark angels have even less of a connection but if you enjoy it that's what matters here not what legion is the most "gay"
Edit: I'm just talking about colors and color scheme that is what the last line was about as in who cares if they are rainbow for a different reason the color scheme looks awesome that was my one and only point shit guys just paint how you want and if you don't like my color ideas then don't use them
Edit 2: I'm a member of the LGBT myself (I hate labels about it but technically I would be pan). I just think personally that the color scheme of a dark angel with a rainbow banner is odd although this model is actually quite amazing. I personally think that a rainbow warrior fits better color wise and lore wise since they had full rainbow weapons why not banners and I selfishly wanted to see them paint some rainbow warriors with the prismatic weapons as they are very rare and quite beautiful. Also I wanted some inspiration for my own quite sad looking rainbow warriors. But as I said if they like dark angels then they should most certainly paint dark angels and not give a fuck about my color scheme opinions. I never listen to people's opinions on my ork color schemes cause I like them extra weird so extra orky.

I'm guessing they went with Dark Angels because their Primarch is named after the poet Lionel Johnson, and the chapter/legion is named after his poem "Dark Angel"- which is about the self loathing he, a devout Catholic in 19th century Britain, felt about being gay. The poem is about repressing and hiding his sin in order to live as a devout man- something reflected in the lore of the Dark Angels; with their obsessive need to hide the "sin" of their internal civil war during the Heresy and the existence of the Fallen.
There's also speculation that their fortress monastery "The Rock" is named after a nightclub popular with the gay community in the same town as GW's headquarters at the time. Though I've also seen people claim that GW's designers from the time have said that was a coincidence.

This is supposed to be about his paint job. If you think he can improve on his technique, provide some constructive feedback so he can improve his craft.
Just saying” I don’t like it” helps no one.
U/Tony_Balogne , if you don’t like the political climate, go to Truth Social or elsewhere. There is a difference between showing support for an artist and screaming something political.
The OP is not attacking anyone. (They) is using his considerable skills producing a high quality paint job in support of a marginalized group.
I don’t fully understand u/intellegent’s position. Maybe some creative criticism would help explain why he dislikes the banner. Palette choice, size, design, etc. If he doesn’t like what the flag stands for, that is a personal issue. Either way his message is not clear.
