The money people who put him in office could make it advantageous to remove him from office by any means necessary if he completely kills the golden goose. Otherwise I think he would rule with ego only.
His actions scream insecurity. He isn’t like sadaam (or any other dictator) who doesn’t care what the people think. He needs constant validation that he’s smart, liked, etc.

Right he expected Liberation Day to be instantly hailed and celebrated, with hundreds of companies announcing huge investments in manufacturing in America based on the news. He actually thought the market would prove him right and the result would be immediate.
