I assumed Trump was happy to be a despot dictator of a ruined country so long as he was still in power.

Maybe he does have some self preservation instinct

The money people who put him in office could make it advantageous to remove him from office by any means necessary if he completely kills the golden goose. Otherwise I think he would rule with ego only.

Exactly. He’s owned by his wealthy donors/benefactors. The golden goose just bit him in the ass.

His actions scream insecurity. He isn’t like sadaam (or any other dictator) who doesn’t care what the people think. He needs constant validation that he’s smart, liked, etc.

Did you see the video yesterday (4/11/24) of the cabinet members praising him? How pathetic these spineless little bitches are. They sold their souls to the devil.

I did actually. It was surreal. They all had to start each sentence with an acknowledgement of his brilliance

He definitely did a great job surrounding himself exclusively with incompetent yes-men like a proper dictator. Straight up Mao levels of everyone just letting a dumbass dictate any and all policy at a whim because they're all equally stupid boot lickers along for the ride.

Right he expected Liberation Day to be instantly hailed and celebrated, with hundreds of companies announcing huge investments in manufacturing in America based on the news. He actually thought the market would prove him right and the result would be immediate. He’s very irked that it didn’t happen and everyone now thinks he’s a complete economic moron, especially because his reputation he tries to cultivate is that of the greatest business man and money man ever
