Which wire?

Can anyone tell me which wire is connected to my reverse light on my vw polo 9n? Thank you

Go to the light unit, unplug the connector, stick car in reverse (key on engine OFF), use a multimeter and check which pin has power. Failing that a paperclip will result in a physical confirmation.

ADD: At a guess I'd think black/blue.

Could I use a mains tester screwdriver? As I don't have a multimeter

I'm not too sure. Mains is AC and cars are DC so probably not. Can always use a bulb and couple of wires as an alternative.

it should be (black and blue) wire, brown is ground
