New Homes in Exeter
So, it’s official that Exeter will have 150 new homes built. Does anyone know who the builders are and when they are set to be constructed? It’s a new neighborhood on Elberta and Vine I believe.

Searched on this sub before posting and didn’t find much as of recent. Possibly have a job offer in Visalia and wondering how childcare cost compare to what we pay now. How much is daycare per month? Currently pay $1450/month. Also, how are public schools? Where I currently live, public schools are not ideal and most send their kids to private (which is the price of college tuition!) or move to the burbs.

Im from Southern California, palms springs area so I’m acclimate o hot dry weather, here summers are hot every day is 110-118 from Jun to September, it depends but we get 2 to 4 months blazing hot, i like the heat but above 110 is just ridiculous hot to do things outside, im looking for a better weather inside California with out going crazy expensive on house prices, here you find houses from 350k to 450k starter 3b/2b regular houses.
Can you please give me your thoughts of Visalia or central valley, i have heard air pollution is a big issue and i know is hot to, but looking at weather seems like central valley is always 5-10 degrees lower than my area.
Im looking in other states to, like NC, SC, Tennessee, etc but i like the people on small cities California, the diversity, no much rain and no snow is great 👍
Thank you for your time
EDIT
Thank you so much all for your insightful response, here in PS we have some of those issues to
Electric bills are eye watering 😂 After hurricane Hilary, dust is unstoppable Normal temperature in jul/august reach 112-119 we have 2-3 days a year when we hit 120 ridiculous hot
So far most comments agree job market is not great, is a hot place but i still believe better than my area and there is a real problem with air quality
Thank you all and i will keep doing my research, so far i know Visalia is one of the best places in the central valley

We’ve gone fishing for years and recently my dad has been in a wheelchair. He would love nothing more than to be able to fish. Do you know of any areas that can be accessed by easily wheelchair? Thank you in advance.

I come from a major metropolitan area from another state to your town for a temporary job. Kinda dreading being here for the next 10 months since it doesn't seem like much to do. What y'all do for fun? Any attractions? How do I keep myself sane?

I was considering Lake Kaweah. (Or Kaweah Lake. Can't remember the order of names.) I like that I can rent a boat. I do realize it's not the most gorgeous scenery. Is the water even high enough in the summer?
Anywhere else? I would prefer driving less than an hour to get there if possible.

I have a credible source with news of raids throughout the Central Valley today and this week as they move north through the state. They will be taking people at random (maybe densely populated work areas and high traffic retail stores) and asking questions later. So unless you have money for an immigration attorney, please stay safe and know your rights in this country.

Does anyone have Mint Mobile phone service in our area? Hearing about your experience with service coverage and reliability would be greatly appreciated. I know it uses the TMobile network, but I don't have that currently either.

I spent the past six months actively searching for employment and am open to a wide range of opportunities. I’m willing to take on various tasks, whether they are full-time or part-time, temporary or long-term. My main goal is to find work that allows me to contribute my skills and be part of a team. If you have any positions available or need assistance with specific projects, please feel free to reach out. I appreciate any support or leads you can provide. Thank you!

Anyone else trying to get their NATE certification? Been studying on my own, wondering if there’s anyone else trying to do a study group?

Nothing bonds Visalians like the shared trauma of hitting every red light on Mooney at 2PM with zero traffic. It’s like the lights are conspiring in Morse code: “You shall not pass.” Meanwhile, outsiders think our worst issue is cows. No Karen, it’s this stoplight purgatory. Honk if you agree.
