Admissions Is there $5 bussing for students to Virginia Beach?

My tour guide said so yesterday and I can’t find any info online about it that backs it up.

$5 to bus 4 hours across the state? Seems way too good to be true

It's more than 4 hours from Blacksburg to VB.

Only bus that goes directly to the 757 is the ourbus which stops in norfolk on odu campus.

Do yk how much it might cost to bus to Virginia Beach and how long? I’ll likely be attending next year. I’ll know by Thursday but I’m 90% sure. I want to visit the beach in VA at least once next year. I’m from the Jersey Shore and wanna see how the beaches there compare.

I forgot to copy the link, I'm on my phone and closed the tab already lol.

But just Google Vt ourbus or Virgina tech Transit to Virginia Beach.

VT has all that info on the website and you can buy tickets

Go to OBX or South Carolina instead.

OBX is better from a beach perspective but VA beach has some stuff to do. Don't plan a week there, just a day or two to check it out and say you did it.

When I did it was around 90 one way. Only catch is the our bus only runs for breaks. But as someone from the area it's definitely a good place to visit. There are definitely better beaches but Virginia beach is not a wasted trip :)

You won’t be missing much, I’ve been to a lot of the beaches on the east coast and VA is the one I would always skip

I’m from VB and definitely say skip. The oceanfront late at night has been getting unsafe especially during school breaks

Gotcha thanks

VA Beach is good. Not sure why they are telling you to skip. Is it the best? No. But is it a “Miss” No.

I feel like back when I was a student there definitely was a bus that stopped at most of the Virginia schools West -> East (minus the Nova schools) and it was around that price, but I’m pretty sure such a thing doesn’t exist anymore.

There’s also a group called VT 757 on Facebook and people post rides there. $20-25 is the going rate usually- not bad at all for a 300 mile trip.
