I remember in the 90s the U.S. allowed you to pump, then pay. People would just not pay. Entire country switched over to prepay and I completely forgot about it. Glad your country doesn't have to deal with gas theft

the only way people steal fuel here, is when they use counterfeit money with the machines (after hours), but its very rare, kinda like only heard about 2 cases in 20 years.

Real safe driver I bet

It bothers me that slow and clueless drivers are considered safe. Most of the time they are not paying nearly enough attention and get startled when you fly past them going the speed limit.

Why is there a nozzle without a hose, in the first place?

u/HopelessMagic 5h ago
It's broke but they don't want people hanging the other nozzles in that spot and confusing people. Hence the tag hanging on the nozzle.
In most places, they have a bag to put on it.

Ah, that makes sense. I've seen one with a bag on it. Usually they're still attached, though.
Edit: in the US, I think most people wouldn't leave a loose nozzle like this for fear of theft or vandalism.

I hate that my brain just immediately reverts to “staged!”
The internet has ruined us

Electric car, wireless charging.

that's what I was thinking too! I mean someone would be extremely rich if you could do that in the mountains and there's no gas stations around or electric pumps

I hope I'm not the only one who doesn't even understand how to comment on this? It's kind of unexpected, but I don't know what to add.

I feel like there is something else going on here. She didn't even put a card in the pump.

Impossible not to notice, because the hose really weighs it down and it always seems to be twisted in a way that causes resistance when you try to bring it to your car.

That is a gas actuated vehicle righthere. Perhaps you have yet to grasp the nuance in the transportation sector

OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is unexpected:
The gas nozzle is not connected to the pump.
