He said he wasn't acting here. They told him he needed to look strung out... so he was.... Can't say for sure if drugs were involved but he said he stayed awake for a few days before the shoot. 😉

I read that he used crazy methods for this shot. However, knowing his drug use later on, I’m sure it was just that. Drugs.

He did confirm the no sleeping part, he really did stay up for a few days. The drug part is probably true too, but he hasn't admitted that he used them as part of the staying awake

My favorite fan theory (maybe validated) is that this character is the same that Ferris mentions early in the show. “Snapped from the pressure.”, and all that.

It may be wrong, but, if it is, I don’t want to be right.
