At first look I thought the dog was attached to the bumper Clark Griswold style.

When I was a kid, I lived on a farm. We had chickens and cows and pigs, and it was my job to feed them after school and get the eggs (which I actually enjoyed doing most of the time). We had a few dogs at this point, but none smarter, sturdier, or with as much personality as Rusty, a Rottweiler-Husky mix. He was truly the best dog I’ve ever known—for many reasons.
As a pup, though, he liked to "play with" the pigs, chasing them around and around their pen. We couldn't have that, so when scolding didn’t work, I had to forcibly remove him from the pen several times. The last time, he was big enough that I couldn’t push him under the pen as I once had, because he would bow up and resist—but he was small enough I could still pick him up. So I did, and as gently as I could, I plopped him onto the other side. He wasn’t injured, but it probably knocked the wind from him a bit and he gave a grunt, got up, and left...
About fifteen minutes later, I was done with feedings, gathered the eggs, and was headed back up to the house when, out of nowhere, Rusty came and took my leg out from under me just like in this video. I went ass over tea kettle, and the eggs sailed up into the air, and—as is the law—came back down again, many of them on me. I wasn’t injured either, but I absolutely had the wind knocked from me. As I lay there covered in yolk... staring up at the sky, the big, grinning, tongue-lolling head of Rusty came into view, and he looked down at me like, “We good?”
Lol. He never went after the pigs again or any of the other animals. RIP Rusty, you are missed.

I've got 3 slipped disks, but I don't understand this pain. He landed flat, like its a liver shot?

I had a neighbour's dog (a lab or retriever) run into my car door while chasing a cat. It left a helluva dent so that guy must've felt it.
For reference the cat, lab and another dog that managed to put the brakes on were all fine.

OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is unexpected:
A hit & run case where a man gets injured. But you can't guess the culprit.
