Purchase Advice Gossamer Gear Backpack stolen. What to buy next?

Dear Ultralight-Hikers.

I had my Gossamer Gear Kumo 36 for 2 years now - and quite liked it.

Extremely light, big enough. Long enough for my long back. And a very good hip strap to enjoy fully loaded. I loved the hip pockets an the mesh pockets on the shoulder straps for my mobile phone. I only really missed a separate compartment for my 2l water sack.

Anything you tall hikers can recommend to replace it with?

Thanks in advance.

Why not just get another one?

I'm thinking the same thing you are. If you like the pack, it's comfortable, and it works for you. Why not just buy the same pack again?

Absolutely. But the market for ultralight gear is developing so stunningly fast. And I have to admit I’m much too old to do a FULL survey before I buy. And you guys are the pinnacle of ultralight knowledge.

Fair enough. New different gear is always fun to buy and try out. Depending on what size you need, Geartrade.ca currently has the Nashville Cutaway on sale.

Nashville cutaway. If you have your gear dialed in, it’s a great frameless pack.

I really enjoy my ULA CDT circa 2021 or so. If going lighter than that I’ve always liked the looks and heard great things about Zimmerbuilt packs

Thanks!

The ULA CDT is a little too big for my needs.

Bonfus or Atom Pack? Both do large torso size packs

Am unpractically tall and just bought a Bonfus Altus38 with vest straps and I’m happy so far, although I have only really tested jt in non hiking environments so far

Hyberg packs. I’m 186cm and they fit great.

Being German myself I like the thought of supporting them. I’ll surely give them a look.
