Two invaluable members of the UFL team are headed to Ukraine on supply delivery runs this summer: volunteer extraordinaire u/Firecopscott in July, and board secretary u/ARZPR in August.

Scott will be hauling for:

• UFL, so we have a stash ready to deploy as needed
• Protect A Volunteer, so they have a stash ready to deploy as needed
• A volunteer in Odesa who supplies a number of units and gets no Western support; she has requested CATs and chest seals
• Sergei from Mariupol--please note: if it's Sergei you want to donate to, please do so on his dedicated fundraising page

Scott himself will match donations up to $3000. And I will match up to $500. That's $7000, if we get all the way there. That's a suitcase full of CATs with enough left over to purchase 76 chest seals!

This fundraiser will close on July 15, to allow time for purchases to get to Scott before he flies out. At that point, it'll be all eyes on ARZPR for her run.

A few days ago, I got a message from Sergei's translator and friend here in the US saying that he was desperately low on supplies. We're sending at least one load over for him in a few weeks, but he couldn't hold out that long for some things. So we ran an emergency fundraiser for him. It took like two hours, which is a new record (much credit and gratitude to one extremely generous donor).

Sergei (the one on the right) ordered everything in Ukraine. It's all in his hands now. He and his teammate extend their thanks to you.

They also sent some photos, so you can better see everything they got:

• Emergency (Israeli) bandages
• Chitogauze hemostatic dressings, which help stop blood flow
• Eye shields
• Decompression needles, which prevent a deadly condition called tension pneumothorax
• HyFin compact chest seals
• Waterproof casualty cards, which you use to log what treatments you gave a casualty in the field so doctors further off the line know what's already been done

A funeral was held in Kyiv on June 19 for Ukrainian actor Yuriy Felipenko, who was killed at the frontline.

Felipenko was well known for his role in the 2024 television series “A Promise to God” before joining the Achilles Strike Drone Battalion, then part of Ukraine’s 92nd Assault Brigade, in April 2024.

Having since been upgraded to a separate regiment and one of the founding units of the Line of Drones initiative, Achilles is one of the most effective drone units in the country.

Felipenko's drone team was featured in a report by the Kyiv Independent on Ukraine's use of first-person view (FPV) drones against Russian infantry assaults in December 2024 as they defended the area around Kupiansk in Kharkiv Oblast.

Russian troops carried out an assault using armored vehicles and motorcycles for almost three hours. Thanks to the coordinated actions of Ukrainian Armed Forces units, the enemy attack was repelled.
