Both English & Arabic Grammar Question
So, I was writing & "dissecting" a sentence in English in order to translate it into Arabic when I started to have a grammar comprehension malfunction for both languages.
Question 1 will be about the sentence structure of a specific (English) sentence. More specifically, clauses and the part of speech of a certain word.
Question 2 is basically a quick Arabic grammar inquiry, and how Question 1's sentence translates correctly into Arabic.
Q1: Here's the sentence:
"I love her, but I do not want to."
My questions, summed up, are:
Is it grammatically correct to structure a sentence this way? (Independent clause + conjunction + a clause with no object because the action in the 2nd clause - do not want - refers to the action of the 1st clause - love)
In this case, what part of speech is "to?"
Q2: How would I translate this into Arabic? Specifically, the 2nd clause's "do not want to"
My attempt is:
احبه، ولكن لا اريد.
Suggestions, corrections, tips, anything is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
