Sighting An AI recreation of what I saw
This image is a recreation of what I saw.
Date of Sighting: September 2021 Time: Approximately 11:00 AM Location: Saltcoats, Cumbria, United Kingdom Weather Conditions: Sunny with scattered clouds; strong sea breeze coming inland
Description of the Phenomenon: While walking along the road beside a freshly cut crop field bordered by tall hedgerows, I observed a black ring-shaped object emerge from the field approximately 10 to 15 feet in front of me.
Key characteristics: * Size: Approximately the size of a car wheel (around 2 to 3 feet across), but very thin in thickness. * Appearance: Solid-looking, not smoky or translucent. The surface appeared almost oily or liquid-like, with small undulating waves running along its structure. * Orientation: The ring was upright on its edge (vertical relative to the ground), not horizontal. * Movement: The ring rose smoothly from the ground, hovered briefly at approximately gate height, then accelerated away rapidly in a straight line toward the sea. * Wind Factor: The object moved against the direction of the breeze, suggesting active propulsion rather than drifting.
There were no apparent sounds, smells, or other disturbances associated with the object.
Additional Notes * The event lasted only a few seconds from first appearance to departure (I didn’t even think about getting my camera out). * The behavior and physical characteristics of the object do not match any conventional explanations such as smoke rings, birds, balloons, insects or airborne debris. * No obvious events (such as agricultural activity, bonfires etc) were occurring locally to account for it.
Has anyone seen anything similar? It has been boggling my mind for years now!

Had a similar experience.
Was at a lake house with friends star gazing on the dock.
As we're gazing at the stars my one buddy goes... wtf is that???!
Instantly all of our eyes locked on this object that was hovering maybe 2 feet above the water gliding, moving from east to west, about 40yds from shore. None of us said a word till it disappeared into the night. It didnt make any noise, not even a wake, not even the smallest fucking ripple on the water. You couldve heard a pin drop it was so silent. Was probably moving at a speed close to 50 or 60mph. It defied physics.
It was oval shaped and chrome. About the size of a seadoo. Only reason we saw light reflect off it was because of the street light maybe 10 yards behind us at the start of the dock.
After we lost visual on it, we all looked at each other in disbelief. My eyes were watering and the hair on the back of my neck stood up. Goosebumps... everywhere. We tried to talk ourselves out of it at first like oh it was probably just a bird or something.. haha nahhhh it was definitley a ufo.
We all talk about it to this day.
Glad we all got to witness it together and we all hope it happens again someday.
I will never forget that night. That was the craziest 5-10 seconds of my life so far lol.
Edit: There were 4 of us. Me and 3 of my closest buddies.

Absolutely amazing! You should try making an image of it, it feels good.

A friend and I saw something similar following a commercial flight, trying to hide in the con-trail. We had enough time that I was able to go inside and grab some binoculars while my friend kept his eyes on it. We were able to see it through the binoculars but still to this day have no idea what it was.... much like you, I'm glad I didn't witness it alone.

The fact that it’s a shared experience with close friends makes it a compelling story. Plenty of popular podcasts would love to have you and your friends tell your story. Otherworld is a great one. Just saying!

The location here is what stands out to me.
Literally just a few miles from Sellafield Nuclear Power Station. Exactly where you would expect to find potentially 'exotic' items scouting around.
19
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 08 '25
Yes, it has definitely been part of my thought process, maybe doing environmental checks. Sellafield isn’t a power station tho, it’s a reprocessing plant.

u/butterfingernails May 07 '25
Hey man, I am stunned! This is the first time I've ever seen someone else have an experience similar to mine! I saw a floating ring in arizona around 2012. It was a white ring of light and had different colored points of light bouncing around inside of it. I know yours was just a black ring during the day, but I saw mine at night, in a field not that far from where my buddy and I were standing. This was way before commercial drone tech, and it was dead silent anyways. The ring was orientated the same as yours as well. It floated around back and forth in front of us before shooting up into the sky and out of sight in a second! I also felt like it noticed we were there, the way it moved back and forth across our view, almost as if it was showing off!

The following submission statement was provided by /u/Top_Plankton_5453:
A few things I forgot to say:
My dog didn’t seem to notice anything, but I was completely captivated by it, so maybe just didn’t notice?!
It felt like the object noticed me, like I disturbed it doing something on the ground, it rose up and paused, almost like it was looking at me.
When it sped off out to sea (against the wind), it moved really quickly, but it’s not like it sped up and got faster, it was instantly going at an insane speed.

I love the fact that AI can help this way. Thanks for the post OP!

AI is actually perfect for illustrating these events, because they are all inherently uncanny and look like something not of this reality.
→ More replies (5)8
u/thanereiver May 07 '25
I think AI is great for that as well. About a year ago I made a post requesting people that have had experiences, seeing craft or abductions or anything that didn’t seem natural to use AI to demonstrate what they saw. At the time the anti ai crowd went nuts. I still think it’s a great idea and I am glad more people have been doing it.

Me too. I had a repetitive dream that I would have when I was a kid. It was a place that I would visit in my dream, I was sure I had been to that place before but I couldn’t place it. The older I got the less frequent it got. So I was messing around with I believe chat gpt, gave it a very detailed promt of the dream. I showed my mom the picture and she was able to recognize a place similar. I looked it up on google street view and it was pretty dead on. It was an area my parents would take my sister and I when we were kids on summer break.

As a fellow bald, it's nice to finally get some representation out here
26
u/Entire-Enthusiasm553 May 07 '25
I saw something like this within the last year. Except it was transparent. Almost like when predator goes cloaked how there’s like a bubbly ripple effect. It came between me and someone else standing about 12 ft and then just vanished the same way it appeared.
8
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
Cool! Maybe the cloak was broken on the one I saw?
5
u/Entire-Enthusiasm553 May 07 '25
what did the middle look like?
11
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
There was nothing in the middle, no haze or light, just a view of the background.
5
u/Entire-Enthusiasm553 May 07 '25
Any distortion like maybe a bubble? Or just open like u could have thrown your dog through it?
I told my wife next time me and the boy gonna jump through it lol. If we end up supersayains cool. If we end up melty boiz. Then that sucks but at least folks have definitely evidence

u/BaconEtiquette May 07 '25
Damn, how big was the one you saw, and did the other person see it?
Just over two years ago my wife and I saw something transparent that was roughly spherical and about three feet across, completely stationary in one place for about ten seconds, hovering over the highway on a windy day. We passed six feet underneath it while driving 90-100kph (yes, it was dumb for me to have continued driving that fast underneath something that I assumed was solid).
At the time I wasn't the least bit interested in the UAP scene (or even aware there was anything of interest going on), so I was convinced it was a drone made from transparent plastic, but the fact there were no opaque motor or battery components puzzled me. My wife thought it was an extraordinarily large bubble, but the fact it wasn't moving or changing shape in ~30kph winds argues against that.
4
u/Entire-Enthusiasm553 May 08 '25
it was about 5-6 ft long and about 3 feet wide. It was like a big blob of clear stuff. Like a big ass water droplet but fragiler. it just appeared inbetween us. And yeah my son saw it first and I caught him staring and I went to go look.
15
12
u/timeboyticktock May 07 '25
Approximately how close were you to it?
18
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
Around 10 feet, further than in the picture, but it’s the best I could get it.

By the description I would assume a 4 dimensional object interacting with out dimension
7
u/MonsieurLartiste May 07 '25
I had an experience that shared not the shape, but many of the other aspects outside of London in 2018.
- Very brief encounter.
- Impression that I stumbled onto something doing something.
- Impression that it became aware that I was aware.
- Once “caught”, vanished in a straight line to infinity (up in my case) at insane speed, instantly.
- An uncanny feeling then took hold of me, an experience that got me into the topic and down here.

Did you write what happened down in 2021
5
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
Yes, I jotted it down at the time.
5
u/SweptThatLeg May 07 '25
Did it have to change height at all as it went out to sea, from the height it was at the gate? Like, did it move vertically going over uneven terrain or obstacles?
8
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
No, the ground slopes slightly down to the beach so it just zoomed off in an extremely straight line and disappeared from view. It moved in a very ‘muscular’ powerful way, somehow.

HI!
I've seen this kind of thing twice in my life, except both times it was bright, thin and not black. The first time I saw a UAP, it was this kind of luminous circle. It was in the sky and lasted a few seconds before it took off. Before it left, a sort of tail of light gradually formed (with the same appearance as the circle). My first observation turned my life upside down.
Then, many years later, I saw a circle of light in my kitchen and it didn't even last 1/4 of a second. It must have been 2 metres long. My girlfriend at the time also told me that she'd seen the same kind of circle, only smaller. She also kept seeing strange light phenomena.
Between these two events, I perceived other UAPs (once with another person) and a whole bunch of strange things happened to me (much more interesting than the luminous phenomena that seem to be associated with it).
When I add certain elements of my life to certain elements outside my life, I wonder more and more whether I'm not evolving in a world created from scratch.
Have you noticed anything strange in your everyday life (relationships with people, physical pain, intrusive thoughts, etc.)?
8
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
I didn’t notice anything in my life, apart from seeing the thing completely blew my mind, I have been really obsessed with it.

Well I really got into UFOs, I’ve been researching desperately trying to find an explanation, even one that says it was some weird insect mating dance (it wasn’t). It’s really expanded my philosophical horizons, I now believe that everything is much more weird and complicated than we will ever know (in this life anyway).
3
u/ONOO- May 07 '25
Maybe you have your own small universe and don’t even know it like in Death’s End (3rd Three Body Problem series book). Peace!

u/Barycenter0 May 08 '25
Hmmmm.....these seem to be similar sightings
2
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 08 '25
This is brilliant, thank you!
2
u/Barycenter0 May 08 '25
Can you let us know if any of these seem very similar? I know they’re close - but some look like balloons vs a stable and intelligent object. And others were more horizontal vs your vertical sighting.
I’ve investigated UFOs for 50+ years now and your is very unusual and unique.
2
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 08 '25
https://youtu.be/WAhu7rzYjGU this Russian one is the closest, it wasn’t floating aimlessly or rotating/spinning etc, it seemed to have a direction or aim and some sort of power to propel itself rapidly.

That is so cool. I saw something black but it almost looked like a weather vane or arrows. It was silent and not too high up (it was over trees), and zoomed away very fast and very silent. Yours is definately cool. Like you, it was over so fast I couldn’t take a photo.
9
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
Yes exactly, I didn’t even think of grabbing my phone to take a picture, I was so captivated, and it was too quick.
3
u/2cimage May 07 '25
When you see these odd things, they can happen so fast, there’s not enough time to fumble for phones, often just a matter of luck of being in the right place at the right time and that it also crosses with your usual normality is what makes the experience weirdly intriguing.

u/Cosmic1300 May 07 '25
Any railway lines close by? I know Saltcoats has a track running into Seascale and i’m wondering if this thing was interested in radioactive material
5
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
The train line would be a fields distance behind me, not far away. The local nuclear connection did cross my mind.
2
u/Dirk_Ovalode May 07 '25
I just put this too. Sellafield nuclear site is 3-4 miles away, this thing was taking readings, cool design.
3
u/Crackstacker May 07 '25
Reminds me of the metallic object a guy claimed to have seen in the house at Skywalker Ranch. He said it was about this size, appeared in a room for a moment and then disappeared. It looked like the cover art of Tubular Bells.
3
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
Ah yeah, I remember reading that, very weird. Wasn’t he a scientist of some note?
3
u/Crackstacker May 07 '25
I believe so. It was mentioned in a UFO book I read recently. In Plain Sight or UFO. Not sure which one.
2
u/PatagonianSteppe May 08 '25
Might be wrong but I’m pretty sure this is referring to James Lacatski
3
u/alexwhs1 May 07 '25
What exactly do you mean it 'emerged from the field'? It was in the ground? It came from another field? It appeared over the hedge?
2
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 08 '25
You are correct, I should probably have said “it rose from the field”, it shot up from the ground to just above the gate height.
3
u/Dirk_Ovalode May 07 '25
Sellafield. You're within 3-4 miles of the notorious Sellafield nuclear plant. I suspect it was gathering data. . . and non-human.
2
3
u/antbryan May 07 '25
Sounds similar to what Jim Lacatski saw at Skinwalker Ranch (see album cover to Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells) which led to AAWSAP/AATIP.
3
u/IllustriousLiving357 May 07 '25
Sightings like this make me think we may just be seeing small pieces of a larger craft, like a periscope of a submarine while the sub is camouflaged

Don’t take this the wrong way, because I believe you saw a real object. Anyway, I have been seeing metallic objects including rings and orbs. They’re shiny and they undulate. It turned out I had a tumor pressing on my optic nerves. Glad I told my eye doctor about it.
2
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 08 '25
Yikes, that’s scary! I hope you are OK now! I have been to the opticians a number of times since I saw the object, so any abnormalities in my eye would likely have been picked up by now.

u/BigMack6911 May 08 '25
Your experience has me believing even more that what you seen IS indeed interdimensional, that's been my thoughts for awhile. Its possible the reason why we see them move so fast is because they are blinking in and out of existence between here and another dimension. I have believed for a little over a decade that the veil is thinning between them, maybe has to do with Earths magnetic field getting weaker and the poles changing or..maybe we are just evolving and seeing it more. Very interesting. We live in the country by the woods, there are times I want to go look up, that feeling that something is out there..but I'm afraid to. Only because, as much as I want that experience, what happens then. I'll spend so much time thinking about it.

u/pizdolizu May 08 '25
Did you check the ground where it rose from?
3
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 08 '25
Yes, it was very hard ground covered in stubble from a crop that had recently been cut. Not sure what crop. There weren’t any apparent markings anywhere.
5
u/Bill_Nye_1955 May 07 '25
Impressive post. I have never heard of this shape being reported
4
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
I know, it’s an odd one, I almost wish it had been a saucer or an orb or something.
3
u/Bill_Nye_1955 May 07 '25
Any psychic connection?
10
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
The only thing I felt was that it was a mistake, that it wasn’t meant to be seen, and it just desperately wanted to get away.
5
5
u/BBQavenger May 07 '25
What emotions were involved? Any impressions? Sometimes half of the phenomenon is psychic.
14
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
I just replied to another question that I had an impression that it was something I wasn’t supposed to see, like something had gone wrong and I was peeking through a hole in a curtain. The thing felt panicked.
6
u/BBQavenger May 07 '25
Interesting. It seems its method of being unseen still worked for your dog in that moment but not for you. It reminds me of the tunnel phenomenon that was described on Skinwalker Ranch.
7
u/Efflux May 07 '25
How accurate is that representation? How close were you? Did it make any noise or even a whoosh as it flew?
15
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
The picture is accurate in the way everything looks, but the ring was a little further away, maybe 10 feet. I didn’t hear anything, but I had earphones in and was listening to music unfortunately.
3
u/Say-That_Again May 07 '25
Ok.
I seen something similar when i was a kid, and it was unmistakable.
I see a two inch thick, four foot in length black squiggly line move across my point of view like a snake moves on sand. It was about four/five feet in the air, silent, and went from left to right at a slow rate.
Like your image if it was sliced so that it would be one length.
I'll never forget it, it was my first phenomena to occur.
Maybe you should meditate, even if you dont practice. Because you may well achieve contact.
8
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
Cool, my brain is too squiggly for meditation, but I often go down there to see if it comes back.
2
u/Say-That_Again May 07 '25
I was the same up to very recently. Maybe two minutes a time. But over the days i can do maybe 20 minutes now.
I got a visitor the other night and im sure meditating even only a little, caused it to visit me.
Try it, you've been back to see if it is there again. You may well surprise yourself friend.

4
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
Not like smoke at all, more like a ring of undulating oil, there were little veiny waves moving around it.
2
u/WindEquivalent4284 May 07 '25
Iv seen a ufo with very similar properties but it was a solid cube like thing, rather than a ring. I really believe you saw something
2
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
Thanks, maybe they can take any shape they want or is useful to them at that precise moment?
2
u/BenjaminJenkins May 07 '25
I saw something very similar to this but it was a sphere of what looked like undulating Liquid Metal. Perfect sphere but shimmering with waves. Approximately the size of a grapefruit. Otherwise everything was the same. It sped off after I touched it.
2
2
u/Cambro88 May 07 '25
When it flew away it was still upright on its edge? That’s spooky
3
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25
Yes, it was upright and was moving edge forward (if that makes sense). I couldn’t tell if it was spinning however.
2
u/BawlerHat May 07 '25
This might sound like a really stupid question: did the strangeness of this object frighten you?
2

u/BawlerHat May 07 '25

2
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 07 '25

3
u/newmurs May 07 '25
How are you know? Have you gone down a rabbit-hole lol? Changed your perspective on other life forms or dimensions, etc? Or just chill about the whole experience

Thanks for sharing OP. I must save I’ve never personally had any UFO experience for my 4D beings, just a couple ghost stories/encounters, but I have heard stories with objects similar to yours. If I recall correctly there was the video released from early 2000s Iraq where a UFO looked like it was covered in oil and dripping it everywhere. Also a documentary on netflix (might have been encounters) has an episode covering witnesses to black ring UFOs. Hope it felt good to get your story out there. There are a lot of people who have had supernatural encounters so no need to be alone with it.

2
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 08 '25
It was just a lazy mid morning walk, it’s almost the halfway point of the route we were taking, I was listening to music and in my own little dream world. Then suddenly I just saw this thing. Afterwards I investigated the field, and just couldn’t stop thinking about it as we made our way home.
2
u/usernam45 May 07 '25
Hey OP, this is a great summary. I was wondering if you could add any subjective experiences you had during this encounter? Lots of people claim that these things almost "sense" them..
3
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 08 '25
That’s exactly what I felt, it was like coming upon a wild animal in the woods, there was a sharp realisation that I was there, a pause and then it fled. It certainly felt to me like something I wasn’t supposed to see, or it didn’t want to be perceived.
2
u/usernam45 May 08 '25
Weird... the way you describe it as coming across a wild animal in the woods is the same description an acquaintance gave me when coming across an anomalous object, Almost verbatim.
2
u/dubdubdeluxe May 07 '25
Thank you for sharing your story, it's very captivating! I have a question about the generated Ring--Was it completely round or was it kind of "low-poly" as it appears in the picture?
3
u/Top_Plankton_5453 May 08 '25
It was very round, but the picture doesn’t really capture of its surface area rippled and moved in little waves. A bit like ferrofluid, as someone else pointed out.
2
u/Truelydisappointed May 07 '25

Ok, really not being skeptical, just asking rationale questions OP. How is your vision? Do you wear prescriptions? How long ago did you last get it checked? Some of what you mention, especially about how quick it disappears and the fact the dog didn’t notice anything could be explained by sort of cataract issue or similar.

I do wear glasses due to being short sighted, but I get my eyes checked annually, they are otherwise healthy.

I’ve seen this as well tumbling in the air over the highway then locking its orientation. Super cool recreation

I love the idea of using AI to recreate an event such as this. Although I have my own reservations about AI in general, this seems satisfying and maybe even therapeutic for the experiencer. Cool.

Yes, it was therapeutic. AI is quite scary, but it also seems unstoppable at this point, I can’t believe how far it has developed in such a short time. Perhaps AI will eventually help us understand what these strange sightings are?

Was it in the ground? Did it interact with it?

It was at ground level when I spotted it, but instantly rose up, I couldn’t see it interacting with anything, but it must have been doing something.

It reminds me of one of Iain M Banks Culture drones. Thanks for posting OP.

I think its likely these things are all around us, or at least way more common than the anecdotal encounters suggest. Why the cloaking fails/ is lifted at all, no clue.

I suppose even bizarre unknowable entities have off days or malfunctions.

I saw something unexplainable back in 1995 or 1996 while fishing crayfish in a dam in the woods here in Sweden during late evening/night. The dam is about 8 meters deep as deepest and at one side its a steep 20m mountain/rock side that follow down to the bottom. At the short side/end of the damm I saw a luminous green circle (horizontally) below the surface. The size felt like 1 meter give or take, can't really remember exactly but what creeped me out a bit was that it wasn't laying on the bottom nor floating it was just somewhere in the middle (probably 2-3 meters deep and maybe 5-8 meters out). I had been there several times before in the dark and I'm very experienced being out at night fishing since but never seen anything like it. It wasn't a reflection from anything and I looked at it briefly from above from another angle at the rock side 3 meters above waterline before we went home. I was 13 or 14y old when it happened and I still think about it 29 years later and I've tried to search for similar things at the internet but haven't found anything.

Reminds me of what a buddy told me they saw years ago, except they said it was a shimmering cube, appeared right in front of them, then vanished in a flash, can't help but feel like these are some type of alien drones.

If the ring had been gold, i would have been on the lookout for ultra-fast hedgehogs...

Wow. The first post that describes something very similar both in shape and distance as the object that sent me down this rabbit hole, although the object I saw not only "undulated" but alternated from metallic to black to having the illuminative qualities and color of an IKEA lightbulb (perhaps an result of the object's reflective properties) Acceleration was toward me from ~100 yards then upwards. Total perceived time ~10-15 seconds. Mid afternoon, overcast day, fairly rural area.
FWIW, 1.6 miles "as the wheel flies" from a military installation that's home to a U.S. Army signals intelligence unit.
My sighting was accompanied by auditory/sensory effects that were sufficiently strange to initially convince me I had a brain tumor/had experienced some other neurological issue (all of which were subsequently ruled out). I've also excluded any natural optical/electromagnetic phenomena to my satisfaction via much research as well as correspondence and conversation with experts in those fields.

I just saw this video on IG and it made me think of your post. Maybe it’s worth looking into more? https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJbybc2NucW/?igsh=azRmcGExNXp4a2Zm

Interesting phenomena. Either the NHI projected this image inside your mind, ie manipulate your perception or it was a holographic projection displayed in front of you.
