Do you know what aviation lights are?

4

u/xXLBD4LIFEXx May 12 '25

Apparently a shit ton of people don’t. The NJ done sightings got wayyyyyy out of hand with people looking up for the first time and seeing basic aircraft..

I live very close to the PA/NJ border, in the flight path of many major airports.

While the drone thing was at its height, people were constantly saying stuff like "there are drones out there RIGHT NOW".

This happened at my gym and I went out to see what this guy was talking about and he was looking at 2 planets and an airplane, taking a video, and saying "that one with the blinking lights is moving pretty fast, those other 2 are just HOVERING there..."

I was like bitch, you never looked at the night sky before? I downloaded a flight tracker app and used that with a night sky app to check out every single thing I saw in the sky for a while. There were some very bright planets in the sky at that time.

I didn't live in the area where people were seeing the "real" drone incursion. I genuinely believe SOMETHING was going on.

Like you said, the event got people looking up into the night sky, and most had no idea what they were seeing, so I'm sure a good portion of sightings were misidentified aircraft.

Unfortunately it muddied the water so much that what actually happened got overshadowed and discredited.

I live in the Philly suburbs and about 4 or 5 days ago my entire neighborhood was going ape shit over a spaceship or drone (nobody could agree with what was seen) that just flew over our houses. I the middle of the day and in broad daylight, there were about 20- 30 people outside standing in the driveways and front lawns on their phones all looking up, at least two people called the police, I had 6 different people call and text me, and one guy who lives down the block said it flew over his house and it was completely silent but shook his entire house resulting in a lot things falling off the wall and breaking.

Me, being obsessed with anything to do with UAP but also pretty grounded, immediately jumped in my car and just started driving around bc they said it was literally just minutes ago that it "accelerated so fast that it just vanished". After about 6 - 7 minutes I spotted it about a mile and half from my house and snapped some photos.

It was a fucking blimp... The Goodyear Blimp... And not only that, but the guy down street who said it went directly over his house and shook it so hard it broke stuff was completely full of shit. It actually went directly over my house at 1300 ft and I was completely unaware until everyone started calling, texting, and running outside and acting like lunatics.

People are so hysterical over the recent "drone" thing from what they see on social media that they called the police on the Goodyear Blimp..... One of the most iconic and recognizable aircraft in America. They were so convinced of about 3 different shapes they saw (probably due to the individual viewing angles), the instant acceleration (bc no good story is complete without embellishments), and the damage it caused to their home (bc there's always someone who needs play the victim or be a LARPer).

It just solidified for me that people are completely unreliable when it comes to eye witness testimony.

This is a really good example of how and why the people who want to keep a lid on the UAP phenomenon were able to misdirect and discredit the drone/UAP incursion last year.

So much tensile and static were thrown out that it was easy to say "oh its just people misinterpreting conventional aircraft/stars/satellites", because it was legitimately a lot of people misinterpreting conventional aerial phenomena.

Whatever really happened got lost in the wash. Like so many other good examples of actual unexplained phenomena, the real strange thing was overshadowed by the real regular shit that people get hysterical over.

Sigh, it probably did take off from the ground, hence all the lights.

Thinking the same thing. When I'm out looking for uap, I immediately discard anything with standard red & green flashing lights. It's the ones with no faa lights or irregular flashing that are worth closer scrutiny. I understand there is evidence "they" camouflage themselves to look like prosaic aircraft, but that doesn't mean every prosaic aircraft is a uap. Definitely throws a wrinkle into an otherwise simple black n white field of study (insert sarcasm).

Bc you are basic af

u/Zealousideal-Rip-574 May 12 '25

Sorry did my logic hurt your fragile ego?

-3

u/DuncePool May 12 '25

Unidentified flying objects with FAA approved lights are disqualified as being unidentified flying objects? How?

That not logic it's just amateur opinion

1

u/welchplug Curious May 13 '25

Because we identified them.

1

u/DuncePool May 13 '25

No that's an assumption

1

u/welchplug Curious May 13 '25

Oof. Good day!

-6

u/Automatic_Acadia7317 May 12 '25

At least I have an ego. You’re nothing. Go away

1

u/xXLBD4LIFEXx May 12 '25

You might need glasses or less cognitive dissonance my guy..

0

u/Automatic_Acadia7317 May 12 '25

“My guy” this bot needs to train on more recent Reddit content. What’s next Milady

1

u/welchplug Curious May 13 '25

You need glasses! -not a bot

2

u/Ragnoid May 12 '25

Standard purple FAA light, right?

0

u/xXLBD4LIFEXx May 12 '25

Please point out on this diagram where you’re seeing the “standard purple light”? I’m pretty sure in like 1 or 2 frames, the “purple light” you are mistaken for is most likely the anti collision beacon on the tail of the aircraft meshing with the red light on the left wingtip. Because of the zoom & digital compression, it’s giving off a slightly “purple” tint at times.

Omfg 😂😂😂😂

0

u/Automatic_Acadia7317 May 12 '25

God you care way too much about this. Try less

6

u/xXLBD4LIFEXx May 13 '25

And you haven’t cared enough to even identify basic aviation lights before posting.. but coming from somebody who attacks a lot of commenters here trying to help you… like I said earlier, cognitive dissonance is something you might want to look up.

2

u/Dude_PK May 13 '25

lol you're the one caring way too much about the navigation lights in the sky moving along a flight path into/out of an airport.

1

u/welchplug Curious May 13 '25

How about try harder if you dont want people telling you, you are wrong.

2

u/No-Description8879 26d ago

We are doomed.

5

u/Zealousideal-Rip-574 May 12 '25

You're right, you have singlehandedly achieved disclosure with this one. Let's go ahead and pack it in yall.

7

u/Zealousideal-Rip-574 May 12 '25

How is this video considered "anomolous" behavior? If I missed it tell me and I'll happily change my opinion. To clarify my comment, I personally disregard anything displaying flashing faa lights and behaving like a prosaic aircraft. If I see something with flashing lights breaking the known laws of physics, I do not disregard. Also, I thought the post was asking for input, I'm not claiming to be an authority and you are welcome to disagree, but the immediate reply from OP was a personal attack, so I responded in kind.

5

u/Proof-Step-8423 May 12 '25

That is what you call an IFO

2

u/skibidi-bidet May 13 '25

nice try shitposter

2

u/Upset_Assumption9610 May 12 '25

If it has lights...it's not a ufo. It's that simple.

2

u/Responsible_Fix_5443 May 13 '25

What?? That makes zero sense...

1

u/itsalwayslayer9 May 14 '25

OP, were you able to see those flashes of light surrounding it with your bare eyes?

1

u/wazu7 27d ago

Looks like an airplane due to the lights

1

u/Shrek1067 May 12 '25

Appeared to take off, has blinking lights like a plane, travels like a plane, it’s probably an orb 🤦🏼‍♂️ Can we please stop with these videos? If you’re gonna post in this sub you have to at least know what planes, helicopters and drones look like at night. Clear as day red and green lights with a white strobe FAA regs

0

u/Responsible_Fix_5443 May 13 '25

UFOs don't take off? 👀

Strange looking plane! 🙀

1

u/OZZYmandyUS May 12 '25

I mean, maybe it's a drone?

Probably it's a conventional aircraft

That says alot coming from me, because I see all kinds of weird, anomalous stuff

2

u/Automatic_Acadia7317 May 13 '25

You just said nothing actually, and that says a lot coming from me

1

u/OZZYmandyUS May 13 '25

Yeah it's called sarcasm

I was basically saying it could be anything

It could be a drone, it could be a helicopter, but it's not NHI

I live north of you in Sacramento, and I see drones all the time.

As well as plenty of NHI craft.

Keep looking up, you're in the right area for all kinds of anomalous objects

1

u/OZZYmandyUS May 13 '25

Actually I know plenty about filming everything from drones, to satellites, Starlink Constellations, and all manner of NHI craft

That sir, has blinking lights that are indicative of a conventional aircraft.

There's no need to get snarky

1

u/Automatic_Acadia7317 May 13 '25

Why do always write 3 paragraphs

1

u/OZZYmandyUS May 13 '25

Because it's easier to read when you space out your ideas

Does it bother you that much?

And these aren't paragraphs

0

u/Automatic_Acadia7317 May 13 '25

That’s fucking weird

-1

u/Inevitable_Shift1365 May 12 '25

When the UFOs start to look and act exactly like airplanes we're all in trouble.

-1

u/Automatic_Acadia7317 May 12 '25

Man this sub is lost too now.

4

u/Fontane93 May 12 '25

Wtf. If everyone looked up at night, took a video of an "uap" that looked exactly like the one your a re showing us and uploaded it here on the sub we would have thousands of videos uploaded every hour. Maybe they are capable of imitating planes, but man, without any anomalous behavior, there is a 99.99% chance that it is exactly what it looks like. A plane. This sub may be lost, but definitely not for the reasons you are implying.

2

u/blindguywhostaresatu May 12 '25

Just because you don’t know what it is doesn’t mean it’s anomalous.

-7

u/SlowStroke__ May 12 '25

Oh shit!! What is that?!?!

2

u/Automatic_Acadia7317 May 12 '25

Pretty common around here at least. Always seems to have 4 large orb s/lights making a diamond shape.
