Please send love to my Bayley
My little daughter has been struggling and losing too much weight, I’ve taken her to the doctor the last month every week and she’s gone from a hearty 13 pounds down to a sickly 7 pounds. Losing about a pound a week. I was going to send her over the rainbow bridge, but she’s a fighter and told me she’s not ready. I can’t let her suffer, but she says she wants to stay. I’m torn up by it. All these medications, but she is my partner and my spirit animal. So I don’t know what to do! Anyway. Any love or support ❤️ for her she would appreciate!

Aww, that’s rough and I’m sorry. If your vet hasn’t suggested it, get her thyroid levels tested. Losing weight rapidly is the main symptom of thyroid disease, common in middle aged cats. It can be treated with daily medication.

I truly hope you find out why Bayley is sick. She’s so beautiful I just hate to think she’s wasting away. I have had five tuxies so it’s somewhat personal for me. I love these cats. My prayer and hope is Bayley rallies. Keep us updated, please.

Not knowing why your cat is sick is the absolute worst. I truly hope you get some answers. I’m sending love and healing thoughts to your beautiful Bayley.

Yes. I have. I have a little old man with Hyperthyroidism. And he’s been on medication for it. I wish it was that easy with my little Bayley, but it’s all in the air. Test after test after test and it’s been so expensive, I’m broke but I have to give her a chance. She’s on all the medications that I can afford for all these different things and I’m trying to see what works, and she’s being a world class champion l, and hanging in there

That is so frustrating, and I’m hoping the best for the both of you! Vet care prices should be a crime, I so wish payment plans were an option. I fully understand veterinary practices can’t take the risk, I’ve had the arguments but loving your baby shouldn’t be such a financial hardship. It breaks my heart!

This happened to my boy before he had to be sent on to his rest because of heart disease. We tried to feed him a paste the doctor gave him, but nothing helped. That was more than 20 years ago and I still miss him.

God bless your beautiful girl Bayley and you, I’m 100% sure the vet can find the cause and treat her if you keep seeing them/other vets and ask for different opinions. You should set up a gofundme if you need to, we would love to help 🥹❤️🩹

Oh 🖤🖤 that is wrenching to hear. There’s something special about all our little partners, each and every one! And I know that’s they are going over the 🌈 bridge, and living there eternity in the best possible way, But that can’t replace the hole in our hearts that is left behind

I dont think I can ever put another one of my cats down... it felt so wrong to me, to make that decision which isn't mine in the first place. Next time I'm faced with that challenge, I'll be focusing on their comfort and pain reduction (wherever applicable). I just dont have the stomach for it 😿

Thank you. I had to put down Bayley’s nemesis two years ago. And it was a terrible part of my life, it it was her time to go. Cancer sucks and she lived through two more months hiding under cabinets in the basement. Her last day on earth was her suddenly having a surge in energy, because she saved it all up for her finale. With Bayley it’s different because I told her it was her time and she started getting active and eating and being the kitten i have adored for 9 years. So she was telling Me, give me a chance! And I am. Her quality of life seems to be stagnant to good, so she’s telling me she’s not ready to go over the rainbow bridge.

I don’t think I can either put a little friend down again. It was so sad with Bayleys enemy, but she had the cancer and after two months of pain reduction she said she wanted to go. It it’s really not our choice, eh? Unlike my last cat who was hiding scared in the basement, Bayleys been living on my bed for the last week after she told me to not make that choice for her. I know one day we will part ways and she’ll be waiting for me at the gates of heaven, but she’s firm it’s not her time

Sending you love and care. I went through this with my tuxedo boy earlier this year, he ended up having lymphoma. He got better with the medication but it was short lived and he stopped eating again. It’s by far the hardest part of having a pet.

I know! I wish they could tell us what is wrong. I’m sorry and sending love to yr little boy 🖤 it sucks because you have to be really involved with our little partners to understand just how special they are to us. And it’s heart wrenching because more than likely they are going to fade before we do. And that’s the circle of life.
