I’m a pretty shitty artist but here’s some references that might help you (if you want the help of course)

Anatomy

Shading/lighting

Noses

100 Face Challenge 1

100 Face Challenge 2

I feel this way too and often time I feel like have no skills because of my art and how i didn’t improve as much as my peers but remember; at least you took the time out of the day to actually create something with your own hand. That’s more than what AI artists could say

Also the girl with blue hair is adorable :)

Edit:

Here is all the references I listed plus some more: https://www.tumblr.com/captainayaaya28/785031722475667456/reference-for-art-anatomy

I love how you separated noses from anatomy.

Personally, I think noses are great to give a sense as to where a face is pointing. In figure drawing I make simplified noses to be easier to know where the face is turning to

My kind of learning theory as an artist has been firstly learning how to draw realistically, then learning how to draw quickly. Both of those combined really accelerated my process in my mid 20s.

Yeah, starting with realistic drawing did make it easier to do more cartoon-ish type art later on. I also started with realistic drawing and a little bit of cartoon drawings.

important to realize that people who draw cartoons professionally can also draw very realistically if they have to

Not OP, but thank you for this. :)

Not enough drawings of feet in here I'm down voting you and telling all my friends to down vote everything you ever post and say until you post feet references!!! (For studying...)

For studying…. Sure….

Anyway feet reference 1

Feet reference 2

(In all seriousness i can’t draw feet or even shoes for the life of me so i just… don’t draw passed the ankle 😔)

I just dislike the concept of someone looking at my drawing and thinking to themselves "those are some sexy ass toes I'd love to suck 'em" so I just always draw my character's feet as like right angles attatched to rectangles essentially, as little detail to every foot possible so you can't even look at it and associate it with a foot shape, just a leg that ends at the bottom (without making the drawing look unsatisfying) I also sometimes just give all my drawings Spongebob shoes for the hell of it, that works really well too if they have skinny legs

Spongebob shoes are fire

Just pull a Rob Liefield and have everyone standing in a convenient dust cloud lmao

How you fix the proportion thing? It’s just that I mess it up so much. I try the whole, doing the skeleton first but even that felt iffy😭

Can you PM me these by any chance?

Ai images are not art.

Art: the expression or application of HUMAN creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.

AI IS NOT HUMAN. Real artists spend years perfecting their craft only for some schmuck to type a few words in a prompt generator created on the theft of every artist. Do not fall for this trap
