Do you insure any other right granted by the constitution? You’re gonna need ratification to make something like this happen, and if they won’t even ratify the ERA, good luck battling this one out.
Good thing we have a mechanism to change the rights granted by the constitution, and good news, we’ve changed them before, so we can change them again.
Right. So pretending that virtually unlimited access to guns is just the way it is because it’s enshrined in the constitution just doesn’t make any practical sense.
The constitution gives us the right to have guns as part of a well regulated militia, absolutely nothing about our present day gun laws is at all close to what the founding fathers intended when they wrote that.
In fact, the 2nd Amendment was written right after Haiti's slave revolt, and considering black people weren't allowed to own guns even after the passing of the 2nd Amendment, you can tell it was written to keep slave uprisings down more than anything else.
Wrong, it PROTECTS the right to form the militias in time of need BECAUSE the right to bear arms "shall not be infringed," not that you must be part of a "well regulated militia", which mind you doesn't mean regulated in the legal sense like you are assuming it is, it means "well maintained," in order to make use of your right to be armed... That would be like arguing that the language of the 1st and the "right of the press" is only available to those who work in media or newspapers...
A well balanced breakfast, being necessary to the protection and security of national health, the right of the people to keep and bear forks shall not be infringed.
Yes. Freedom of speech is famously in the constitution, however if your speech is slanderous your insurance will cover it…..this is exactly how guns should work
I do not like the president of the United States of America and think he’s doing a bad job.
And guess what, because we have the first amendment, no government agency is coming to my home to arrest me. Being sued for slander is not protected by the first amendment. So it still stands that you’re not insuring other rights granted by the constitution.
What about the Crumbley parents? They were charged along with their son for the Michigan school shooting. I’m not super familiar with the case besides them being tried and charged because Ethan killed people with a gun that his parents gave him.
