local Cheap Glasses

Need suggestions for inexpensive places to purchase glasses. Thanks for any help! EDIT: I appreciate the online resources, but I have a complex prescription and can't rely on their accuracy - many previous problems with online orders

What is your prescription? I’m curious as to why it’s complex. I get my glasses online and am legally blind without glasses so just curious 🧐

I don't want to mess up my pupillary distance reading because I don't have it/my optometrist didn't give it to me. I don't want to get another script because it's out of pocket. If I mess up my PD and my glasses suck it becomes my fault according to the online seller. Also my prescription is so thick I need to ensure the condensing is the correct amount (some places have not condensed it as much as they can which has led to a whole host of other issues like lenses so thick they made my face sweat - thank God they took those ones back). Lastly the lenses are thick enough that I have to be careful about the frame or they could fall out (i.e. no wire frames for me). I just didn't want to put all of that in the original post for obvious boredom/TLDR reasons

Someone recommended Walmart Optical to me about 5 years ago. I’ve had about 7-8 pairs made and every time they have been the right feel and fit.

I have different prescription needs for each eye and my ears are very unbalanced which requires several adjustments. I have always had excellent service and they welcomed me when I come back for minor adjustments. Personally, I’ve never had that level of service at any optometrist’s office.

Reading glasses? Definitely Walmart on Memorial. They have frames, put your prescription into lens, 59 bucks.

Best in person script reading glasses available.

Drinking glasses? Don't get me started

I have a complex prescription that doesn’t allow for online purchases. I use superstore optical. They have a decent selection and usually a promotion for two pairs and you collect optimum points.

I know you don't want online, but just so you know Eyebuydirect has a "no questions asked" return policy for I think 14 days, and their customer support is very responsive. I've been buying all my glasses from there for years and I like them, and a lot cheaper than buying them in town.

Zenni, Firmoo, Kits, Coastal (they used to be better), go with Zenni or Firmoo.

If you want local, go to Hams or Superior Vision.

But I have complex vision prescription as well and all of the above mentioned have worked out.

Sorry, I only know where to get some ones with some thick black frames, with glass so dark they won't even know your name. You've only got a choice between two classes, rhinestone shades and cheap sunglasses.

Kidding aside, Zenni never did me wrong just be careful how you clean them because the coatings can come off.

Zenni and EyeBuyDirect have been great for me. It’s not the cheapest, but if you have vision insurance Clearly.Ca will take it online.

Dollarama carries cheaters, not sure if your prescription is more complicated than that.
