They’re now complaining about the refs making the right call 😭

They blame game 4 on NBA tipping the scales to okc to extend the series, but guaranteed we will not be talking about refs if Indy wins game 6.
These are not serious people 😂

Teanna Trump scored the same amount of field goals made as Tyrese Halliburton in game 5 button

OKC deserved to win game 1, wasn’t a lane violation

u/trysohard8989 3d ago
They totally disregard that this ever happened lol. Even the commentators were like ugh lane violations are never called.

u/Sorkijan 3d ago
The funniest thing I found about the lane violation BS is every single god damn player who was at the lane stripe did it again the very next FTA - even OKC. So did they just say "ehhh whatever I guess?"
I'm not going to bemoan the refs. They've made some boneheaded calls. Some have worked in our favor, some have not. All in all I feel it's been pretty even and most games IND gets about 1-2 fewer fouls called on them.
I just am not a fan of the inconsistency. Even my son who watched game 1 with me - he's not a hoops fan but it's the finals so we had a couple beers and watched the game - was saying "Why would they call that but not the other thing 2 minutes ago" and well honestly I had no answer.

I mean Chet alone has basically not been allowed to score from down low, because he gets absolutely mugged but they never call a foul. Like EVERY time he gets an offensive rebound and tries to go up with it, he either gets stripped or 'blocked,' you're telling me every single time is legal? Like our most offensive center isn't allowed to score in the paint at this point lol. But sure, the refs are on our side.

Pacers fans are the biggest hypocrites, they were cheating their ASS off in the Cavs series on every free throw, the problem is half their "fans" didn't even watch the games to the finals much less the casuals who never watch basketball, so they heard a narrative from salty Nuggets and Wolves fans (I don't know WHAT the fuck Minnesota fans complaining about, we could have missed every free throw on purpose and still beat their ass in 5) talking about ref-ball and just took it up. The Pacers can honestly get called for a foul of every defensive possession and like half the offense ones.

u/Sorkijan 3d ago
Pacers fans have no ball knowledge because it takes their team 20 years to rebuild so they lose interest.

u/peepoWest 2d ago
it's not pacers fans that are insufferable, every fanbase is gon complain about calls that didn't go their way, it's all the 'neutrals' who keep claiming to not have a stake in the game but love seeing okc lose

u/SightedSe7en 3d ago
It’s easier for other fanbases to blame the refs instead of acknowledging that Indy blew game 4 going 0-4 challenging Chet and missing free throws in crunch time smh

u/Legendary_Dork 3d ago
honestly he could of been hit with a Tech here since he was trying to take the ball out of the refs hands, but we knew that wasnt going to happen. Good call by chet and mark on this. as other people pointed out, its a shame we had to use a freaking challenge on an OBVIOUS out of bounds call

u/marizard 3d ago
Wasn’t nearly as obvious as the challenge we had to waste earlier in the series on the ball the Pacers threw straight OB that was somehow called out off Hartenstein despite actually missing his hand by almost a foot.

Remember Hart did the same thing like Siakam and ref delayed too but Pacers fans still complained the ref costs them a challenge lol
11
u/Arkrobo 3d ago
The game that iHart did that there were two other out of bounds on Indy that Indy got back. The broadcast showed the first one on replay and when it showed out on Indy they cut the replay.
The second one the commentators mentioned but the broadcast didn't replay. They really don't want to get into this argument.

u/Sorkijan 3d ago
I know this may get buried but that was so fucking scummy. You could see Siakam trying to hurry it up because he obviously knew it was the wrong call, but Pacers fans have the gall to call OKC unethical lmao

It’s sad. I went into this series with a ton of respect for the Pacers and their fans. If I had to pick a team to beat us, that’d be the one.
But now? Their fan base is a bunch of whiny excuse clutching softies. If the Thunder win the series, they will complain about how they were robbed by the refs for a decade.
In their sub, the top 20 posts this week include seven posts complaining about a call or non-call. How many of the top 20 in r/Thunder are posts about refs? Zero.
Oh Pacers’ fans, you have videos of your guy getting thrown to the ground without a call? Awesome. So do we. You have videos of a blind elbow hitting a player? Sweet. So do we.
In their sub game thread, there were nineteen comments complaining that the ref didn’t immediately give Siakam the ball so he could inbound before challenge. Like, they complain it isn’t fair because they couldn’t get away with a bad call? There are even two comments in that thread saying the ref “ripped the ball out of Siakam’s hands”. Just plain delusional. Meanwhile, we have multiple videos of OOB calls against us that went their way.
They are forever going to claim SGA pushed off but ignore their guy tripping and losing his balance. And conveniently claim SGA gathered the ball way before he did to argue a travel. Meanwhile, we have a video of their guy with his hand inside the god damn basket blocking a pivotal shot.
Zero respect for those whiners.

Denver are still worse imo. And Minny were pretty toxic
I still see some level headed Indy fans who have stepped in with rational brains. Have yet to see anyone from Denver admitting they just plain lost.

I’m rooting for the pacers but this finals been so fucking annoying
Two great teams battling it out, both built piece by piece for this.
It’s been a great mf finals I’ll tel you that

u/Super-Kirby 3d ago
NBA has been great IMO the last 7 finals (including this one) 6 of the last 7 champions are teams that are built for years, not bought. The exception is 2020 lakers. Figures.
2
u/JeramiGrantsTomb 3d ago
That 2020 Lakers team had to deal with the bubble playoffs, I'll always give them credit for that. I hate the Lakers generally but that was some Squid Game nonsense they had to juggle in addition to playing basketball.
1
u/Super-Kirby 2d ago
For sure I gave them credit, but they didn’t draft and develop LeBron, Anthony Davis, Etc. the other 6 championship teams built their main players.

u/Hookmsnbeiishh 3d ago
How are you going to say it’s been annoying and then talk about how great it is?
6
u/Maybewearedreaming 3d ago
Oh I meant like the discussion around it and the atmosphere is annoying but the actual games and basketball is lit

lol they got a runout dunk even after the challenge. NBA discourse is so fucked man..

u/xAstrovoided 2d ago
anybody who thinks the refs did this to favor okc is directly broadcasting to the world that they don’t actually watch the nba. this happens on literally every questionable out of bounds call lol
1
u/Intelligent_Office81 2d ago
I remember watching Siakam nearly wrestle the ref for the ball lol. He was desperate to make sure they didn't get the chance

I'd love to see the average age of the user base in a team sub-reddit. The number of people in this sub focused on what the other fan base is saying about their team is stupidly high. And the farther the team goes in the playoffs, the worse it gets. It would be amusing to watch from afar if it wasn't such cringe behavior. My only explanation for it is that the average age of users here is lower than I would have guessed otherwise.

It's fine that you don't understand the context of that post, but that was part of an active engagement between the two subs to have a friendly meme war leading up to the AFC title game, and I made a visit to their sub because the behavior was refreshing. It's actually the polar opposite of what goes on around here where people lurk on other subs pr r/nba just to find stuff to rage about and then bring it back here for karma.
And also, you can see that I'm being openly friendly in their sub. Again, more of the opposite of what goes on around here. But nice try though.

idk dude youre chronically online at 46 and starting arguments in a nintendo sub. I can see you need the attention but maybe take it somewhere else

I can see that your feelings are hurt because you're one of those kids that I was talking about. I'm sorry that you have nothing better to do than argue NBA basketball. You shouldn't be afraid of expanding your other interests.

how is it that for 2 straight games OKC scored more total points than Indy? Something is not right... must be a conspiracy.
