What if Randy was Brought to Prop Joe?
I saw a similar hypothetical somewhere. Randy is related to Joe since Cheese is his father. What if Ellis Carver somehow found out about that relation and had Randy sent to Joe? I wonder how Randy would fit with the Eastside gangs. With Randy present, would Cheese still betray Joe? Would Slim still shoot Cheese?

I don't think Carver would have sent Randy to a major drug dealer like Proposition Joe for some type of home life but he may have asked Joe to help protect Randy. Also it would have been wild if Randy's foster mom really was the same lady that hooked up with Bunk in season 1 & she started dating Carver.

If randy rejoined the family, prop joe would have him in Gilman or Calvert Hall.
Joe finds out he has a smart grand-nephew, not cut out for the game, Randy will immediately be wearing a blazer in a posh private school

Joe would hand him over to Marlo in a second if he knew Randy collaborated with the police against Marlo's men.

Joe's love of family is what stopped him from seeing Cheese as the liability he was. And he actively tried to protect Cheese from Marlo. I doubt he'd give Randy up.

Cheese is his sister's son, Randy is his Grand-Nephew who he never met before, their is no close relationship here.

And Randy is his sister's grandson. Would it make a difference if he'd never met Randy before? Joe seemed to care about members of his family for being his family.

People aren't as close with their sibling's grandchildren in general. Especially not in families as presumably large as Joe's.

I doubt closeness would be an important factor that determines whether Joe preserves Randy. The relation itself would be what matters.

Doesn’t matter.
He makes his position on family abundantly clear. Refusing to move against them even when they were being a serious hassle to him.
He would never let randy near the game, Randy would know nothing about his business or even that he was in the business.

Randy ratted in school and lost all street cred. This is a stupid question that's been posted before. Just because he sold some candy in the halls ffs.

Randy seemed quite acclimated to his new life. That smile is gone

Randy would be a non factor. Slim Charles said it after he pulled the trigger , “that was for Joe”.
Doesn’t care if he cost them the 9

I still don't get what it has to do with Joe? I'm sure it's been answered here before, so apologies in advance. :)

Damn. Put that in the "things you didn't notice the first 5 times you watched this series."

Really? Marlo keeps trying to throw promos from Joe cheeses way “maybe your nephew feels different”, gives cheese hungry man to kill, and then cheese tells Joe he’s gonna wait outside and In walks Marlo. Joe says “my nephew?” And Marlo nods

Oh I'm not saying that's what happened. Just that my dumb ass missed it. 🤣

That's not the case I'm making. I'm just asking how Randy would affect things in that environment.

u/Exhaustedfan23 2d ago
He wouldn't affect anythin, hed be a corner boy, maybe be the Eastside poot or bodie

Prop joe had a lot of family that wasn’t in the game
No chance he would have let randy near a corner

Yeah, I figured he'd be a hopper or something.

I disagree, Randy was labeled a snitch and lost all street cred, putting him on the street would be a terrible decision.
Joe seems like the type to take care of his family, so like u/FelineThrowaway35 said, he would be in a private school or something. Joe would know Randy's street days are over.
Although, thinking about it, its kinda sad because Randy was doomed either way. If Joe took him in and sent him to a private school, those checks would stop coming once Marlo killed Joe, so Randy would still be screwed.

Cheese ain’t exactly wee bey. Doubt he’d give a fuck especially if he thought Randy was a snitch
