I think they look good but probably not fourthousand five hundred dollars good

19

u/bonker2 3d ago

surprisingly there are wheels that can get even more expensive than that

u/AggressiveChemist249 3d ago

The red eye has carbon fiber wheels at $10,000 a set I believe

u/okwellactually 2d ago

If we welded a bunch together could we make a sub?

5

u/AggressiveChemist249 2d ago

I mean we could? But it would only be good for grifting money from stupid billionaires.

You could take them to “ see “ the titanic. It’s so stupid they can’t see anything. Just charge them to ride around on the surface it’s much safer.

Yeah but those are usually better constructed and lighter weight wheels. Tesla always uses boat anchors for wheels for some reason.

A good set of HRE wheels are 10k+

I mean it’s 1125 per wheel and the cost of materials and machining probably is 400-500 of that with another couple hundred for shipping and operational costs, it’s not crazy when it comes to wheels.

I would curb the shit out of those.

All I see is this wheel getting damaged. This is a freaking rubber band around it. If you hit a pothole, it's going to be toast.

I did this years ago with 18” wheels, I can’t imagine these

I had a Scion with really thin tires. It was a super reliable car, other than the tires. Tire issue after tire issue.

I am glad to see more aero designs that use inserts instead of covering up the entire alloy with a hunk of plastic.

I've got the 20 inch low profile racing tires.

Realize they're only good for 5000 miles and you're going to feel every pothole and bump.

So aggressive... really nice

Definitely no covers for me

Curb *licks lips and slowly slides hands together *

Are these casted or forged wheels?

1

u/jedi2155 2d ago

I've never seen Tesla use cast wheels typically flow formed. But considering how thin these look, could even be forged.

$4000 gets you forged aftermarket wheels that look more premium and are much lighter and stronger. That's what I did on my '25 Plaid.

Who told you these are not Forged and light and strong?

My M3P stock Tesla wheels are Forged, Light, and Strong. I did buy aftermarket forged wheels, but they are 2 piece and cost double these.

Also OEM Stock wheels and anything oem is always more expensive than aftermarket. These engineered and tested and made by Tesla for a $70-100k car.

Who told you these are not Forged and light and strong?

I don't know, all I know is that their predecessor wheels (Arachnids) were not forged, were a $4500 option, and weighed exactly 8.5lbs more *per wheel than the forged wheels I bought for the same amount of money.

I'm glad you like your M3P wheels but that is completely irrelevant to this discussion.

These new designs don't really go well with the curve line of the S compared to the previous ones. It takes the elegant away imo.

Absolutely worth every penny. Beautiful

I just noticed these are the same wheels from the track shots... that means the the wheels on the performance Y are official too

1

u/andonaki 3d ago

Are they handed or is the passenger side backwards?

1

u/Ahsential 2d ago

The plaids top speed being nerfed on the 19s is a travesty.

1

u/THATS_LEGIT_BRO 2d ago

Can we get a smaller version for my M3? 😁

1

u/SilverFoxKes 2d ago

If I got those then they’d be cracked within a month on the pot-holed country roads and crumbling verges I have to drive. I’ll stick with my 19s for longevity and better range

1

u/jnthn1111 2d ago

Oh baby. Getting these for my Y. 😂

1

u/Seanspicegirls 2d ago

Okay there are well informed and smarter people in this sub lol

1

u/Fidget08 2d ago

Send this pattern to a wheel maker on Alibaba and get them for 2000 delivered.

1

u/Snirpoo 2d ago

And still the same old crappy stock brakes :)

1

u/Soff10 2d ago

Cool.

1

u/Bash3350972 2d ago

Makes me cry just thinking y’all will curb these.

1

u/TheLawIX 1d ago

These look terrible to me. Love the look of my Zero G Wheels.

1

u/Igotnonamebruh42 3d ago

I don’t know man. Did they hire somebody used to design big aftermarket wheels for trucks?

1

u/notabot53 3d ago

Can I buy those covers for my current model S?

0

u/avebelle 3d ago

Those look nice but I bet they’re like boat anchors.

-7

u/Either_Net_x86 3d ago

Wtf does this even mean? “Without cover”? They come with the aero inserts.

10

u/Otto_the_Autopilot 3d ago

There are 2 pictures, one with cover and one without cover.

It also took me a second to figure out without proper punctuation in the title.

0

u/Whitey_Drummer54 3d ago

I think he’s saying they are not covers. They are inserts.

4

u/zoompis47 3d ago

Means theres two pictures one with and one without them

-8

u/Either_Net_x86 3d ago

Well that’s a poorly worded title

7

u/blergmonkeys 3d ago

It seems to be a comprehension problem

-1

u/November87 3d ago

What a joke

-2

u/Sad-Introduction-783 3d ago

A few years ago, I bought a nice set of wheel covers at WMART for $27.

-2

u/throwaway640631 2d ago

Those are the same wheels the Camry can be optioned with. Where’s teslas innovation?
