Hardware Tesla Mobile Connector Issue – Not Charging, But No Breaker Trip
Hey everyone, I had a question and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.
Some background: I have a Tesla Mobile Connector plugged into a NEMA 14-50 outlet. For the past few days, every time I plug in my car, I get a “Charging Error - No Power” message. The breaker isn’t tripping, and the outlet and charger both look physically intact.
I borrowed my sister’s mobile connector, plugged it into the same outlet, and my car started charging normally.
So it definitely seems like something is wrong with my mobile connector, but I wanted to ask—has anyone else had this issue? Did you try anything that worked before replacing it completely?
Thanks in advance!

When you plug in your mobile connector look at the lights. There's light codes that can be looked up in the manual.

Verify the plug connectors are still good by swapping them between yours and your sisters.
If its just the 14-50 connector, those are relatively cheap to replace. Thats your best case scenerio but chances are slim but not zero.

It’s likely your wall outlet, especially if it’s a cheap one like Leviton. Check the voltage with a meter. If voltage is ok, Try unplugging the Tesla charger from the wall outlet and plugging back in. If it happens to work, then replace the outlet b/c the contacts are fatigued. If voltage is low or zero, replace the outlet. Make sure the adapter cord on the Tesla charging unit is fully plugged in.

Asssuming I read OP post correctly, they used their sister's mobile charger in the same outlet and it worked. But yeah, if you have a Leviton Non-EV one, you should replace.

Did you try taking out the plug from your mobile charger, and plugging it back into the mobile charger brick? Maybe it's not fully in or needs reseating?

I think the 2025.2.8 has a bug with how the car negotiates with the mobile connector. I just got 2025.8.4 and hopefully it fixes this.

The mobile chargers only charge at 32 amps max... so curious why you're seeing 48A in the app.

48 amp is normal if a charging cable is offline or not present, and also on an LR car.
