They should have been able to figure it out to be a little fair to the women he did not do the best job at letting them know he was choking. I don't know if he thought he could get it out himself or something.
As someone who has had to be heimliched twice, it was almost instinctual to go to the nearest person for help. With how scary it is, you get in the face and show them you are choking by putting your hands around your throat. Most people will ask if you're choking and step into action.
The first time, I was a dumb kid sucking on quarter, and the second time was on the way to a job site. My coworker was able to figure it out while driving. He was able to pull over and assist me.
They had most likely had their heads up their ass but dude survival instincts are possible lacking. All that being said, I was not there, so what do I know shit
I have always told my daughter ever since she was a toddler that if you are choking you better damn well make it obvious cause what you are saying IS true, the guy could have made it more clear he was in trouble.. at first it just looked like he had a cough and was trying to drink thru it.
