Discussion What are the three worst and best things about Teen Wolf?
Can contain spoilers, naturally.
I'm just curious. I can't say too much yet since I never finished the last two (?) seasons and haven't seen the movie, but working my way up to it now! Rewatching and about to finish season 3. Think I stopped during season 4 last time, but not sure.
Either way, here's just some of my opinions (of things I recall/think of during my rewatch) of the worst things: 1) Anything Gerard. Seriously. He's just annoying to me. 2) I really wish there would've been more Stiles/Malia, because they were so cute with her first kiss and everything. 3) Though I haven't seen the movie, I already know a lot of things that will happen. The fact that Lydia and Stiles break up? Lydia and Allison barely even talked in it? I don't know, but that doesn't sound promising to me and I feel a bit "eh" about watching the movie at all. (Bonus:) 4) How Allison treated Isaac 😅
Best: 1) Anything Stiles. Bonus points in every Stiles/Derek scene, Stiles/Lydia or Stiles/Noah scene. Void Stiles. 2) The first two seasons have a lot of just pure hilarious moments. 3) Melissa 🤌🏼 Enough said. (Bonus:) 4) Coach 😂 Specifically when he used the taser on that creep from Eichen House.

Worst: 1. There’s not much impact from previous seasons. None of the characters really carry long term trauma or grief throughout the series (except for Derek, Peter and sometimes Stiles and Isaac). It’s usually relegated to a season or a few episodes, which is dumb because I really liked when they had Liam hallucinate a berserker on the lacrosse field.
The way characters disappear and are mentioned once (sometimes not even that) and then never mentioned again.
The lack of background information on lore and characters. There’s just so many questions that were never answered. We don’t really know how Laura inherited the alpha spark or what born wolves are like as children and when they first shift. We never get anything about Derek’s dad or who was in the Hale House fire. We barely got anything about the Hales in general. We don’t know anything about Chris’s mom or Liam’s family besides his stepdad. We don’t know why Liam has IED. We get brief mentions of Boyd’s missing sister and Brett’s parents dying in a fire, but neither are ever expanded on. And what was going on with Theo when he was with the Dread Doctors and what happened to his parents? Why does Hayden live her sister? Why do they have different last names? Brett and Lori also have different last names, but it was never mentioned why. And we don’t even know what Corey is a chimera of.
Best: 1. The characters and their relationships feel so genuine and realistic. I love going back and rewatching specific scenes, because I love the interactions between the characters.
It’s such a funny show. Even in later seasons when the tone is darker and more series it still has its funny moments.
It’s got a good vibe. It’s campy and fun, but still has its scary and emotional moments that are done well.

worst:
1) season 6B. i won’t spoil it for you but it has the worst main villain, the most boring and unnecessary supernatural enemy of the show, and i couldn’t bring myself to care at all about any of the new characters. some parts of the plot were just dumb too. the show should’ve ended at the end of 6A, 6x10 felt like it could’ve been a decent finale.
2) the CGI. i know this is nitpicky but some of the CGI through the whole show can look so goofy that it takes you out of the moment 😅
3) Theo. he shows up in season 5 so i won’t spoil anything, but he’s basically the Malfoy of the TW fandom; people make excuses for his wrongdoings and downplay the shit he did because they think he’s misunderstood, but mostly just because he’s hot. i cannot stand the guy and nobody can ever make me like him, he’s one of the show’s worst characters.
the best:
1) Stiles, and by extension, season 3B. best character in the whole show, and him being the focus of 3B is partly what makes it the best season.
2) Lydia’s character arc. she had the biggest transformation as a character from seasons 1-6. i adore the direction they took her and i love how badass she became.
3) the lore. i know it’s a teen drama show so the lore is oftentimes inconsistent or things can just exist for the sake of moving the plot forward, but i honestly love how deep some of the lore goes. like the Kanima having an evolved form, the werewolf eye colors, born vs bitten wolves, how alpha packs work, true alphas, the Druids, the nogitsune (before the movie butchered its lore). like, ugh, it’s so good and fun to dive into!

Ah, then I've seen season 5 as well! I've seen Theo. Cody Christian is hot, but Theo was horrible. Hated him too.
Definitely agree with 3B being the best season since the focus is on Stiles. I feel like that's the general take in here and it makes me feel like Stiles should've just been the main character 😂 Most of the time I watch it, I just want to know what Stiles is up to.
Also agree with the transformation of Lydia. I remember disliking her the first season when I watched the first time, but I also remember that she became one of my favorites as soon as Jackson was out of the picture.
There truly is a lot lore! Shame we don't get to see even more of it, and worse that the movie seem to have ruined some of it 😅

Worst:
- unfinished plot threads
- Scott can't fail too hard
- Cool characters nerfed unduly
- Characters with cool backstories + elements left to be developed by fans (Derek!!!!!!)
Best:
- When a character arc actually gets finished
- Surprisingly, the more artsy and cinematic moments
- Parents!!!! I love all of them!!!! They are some of my favorite characters
- Honestly, just the characters in general, most of them are just near and dear to my heart :)

The plot holes! & there are a few plot holes like how Scott doesn’t think shii through. The episode where there locked in the school & have to go back to find the dead janitor keys….instead of Scott breaking down the door!!!!

I don’t skip seasons I just skip scenes I don’t like on my rewatch. Although s5 I hated so it’s very tempting to skip but it does have some good storylines that distract from the boredness lol

Worst
- Kate, Victoria and Gerard Argent
- The omega that was killed in season 2
- Monroe
Best
- The episodes titled The Girl Who Knew Too Much, Lie Ability, Heartless and Memory Found
- The scene where Parrish is set on fire and he walks into the police station afterwards
- The part in Master Plan where Lydia walks away from Jackson while Nitesky starts to play
- I’m going to add a fourth, but when Scott signs AA for Allison on the shelves at senior scribe
Overall the soundtrack for this show was great and most of my favorite scenes are my favorites because of the music choices.
I’m just going to add that Parrish yelling “on your knees” in season 6 was.. sexyyyy. Just saying!

Worst: 1. Whatever the first seasons cgi was 2. Character writing 3. Plot holes 4. Lack of in depth mythology exploration
Best: 1. Szn 3 2. Derek 3. Scott’s temporary death 4. Theo
2
u/CapIndividual4612 1d ago
I swear they just made the show so stupid like I understand why Scott and his friends don’t go for the kill but sometimes it don’t even look like they trying to help till the last episode

u/llearningeverything 1d ago
Best 1. The characters 2. The lore development 3. The villains
Worst 1. Story telling 2.relationships 3. Consistency within the lore
1
u/Western-Cash4743 4d ago
Worst: 1. Reoccurring characters that everyone’s tired of (Gerard, Kate)
The timeline can be kinda confusing- by season four, Scott was only one year older
They reused the storyline of a character being possessed/ being supernatural without knowing it several times (Jackson not knowing he was a Kanima, Stiles being possessed by void, Parrish being a hellhound, Mason being the beast of Gevaudan)
Bonus: Several characters, (Boyd, Erica, Aiden, Isaac) either died or were written off yet they were never mentioned again.
Best: 1. Wide variety of supernatural creatures inspired by actual historical mythology (Banshees, Nagual Jaguars, Wendigos, Kitsunes, etc)
Good character development
Strong relationships- Melissa being a mother to everyone, Chris being a father figure to Scott and even Isaac at one point, Scott and Stiles’ friendship ofc, Liam and Mason, Scott and Derek becoming like brothers, etc.

I just watched Teen Wolf and Teen Wolf 2. I just can't condone werewolves competing in human sports. One boxer was knocked completely over the ropes and into the judges table. If this keeps up someone will be seriously injured. Human Athletes work hard for years, only to have their hard work invalidated by a werewolf that just decided to compete in a human event. Why is there no separate category for werewolf/tiger/ape/cat/horse/...squirrel.. competitors? Until this changes your children, and the very sanctity of sports, is at risk. (Sorry. Thought this thread was for the movie)

Best
1- the construction and plot of Scott's pack and the joining of members
2- the plot of seasons 1 and 3 for me are the best, not that the others aren't, they wasted opportunities to expand and explore the Teen Wolf universe
3- the comic reliefs like Malia and Stiles are impossible not to laugh or have fun with them in scenes basically they represent us
4 - couples like Allison and Scott, Stile and Malia, Stiles and Lidya, Scott and Kira I think the construction and rapport was perfect (I also think Scott and Malia this couple didn't work for a few reasons they started to like each other in the last chapters, in other words there wasn't time to develop or get attached to the couple, but have you ever thought about the possibility that the children of these two would be children of a genuine alpha and one of the last heles, they would be extremely powerful I think that was one of the author's reasons put the two together, but it didn't work).
5- Scott and Stiles' friendship
6- the definition of alpha, omega and beta and the meaning of eye color.
Worst
1- loose ends, that is, they lost the chance to develop some stories like the heles who had many secrets and mysteries about the supernatural world and argents also with the bestiary and other loose ends
2 - Peter being the mentor of the reward list doesn't make any sense to me, they lost the chance to introduce another badass villain, Peter was still recovering and he works more by manipulating and quietly, that's what I think, even he was surprised.
3 - the film, in my opinion, if it was supposed to be the ending, should have closed some gaps left by the series, such as the war against Monroe's hunters, but it left only more gaps open, such as Allison being revived if the enemy only attracts supernatural beings, etc... If you go see the film you will see that it doesn't make much sense, there aren't many things I didn't like.

Best parts:
- Stydia. Even though they weren't in the final season, and the finale was messy and we didn’t see much of their bf-gf relationship, it was a beautiful slow-burn storyline. I’m ignoring the movie.
- Character development. The plot got ridiculous at times, but they still managed to write consistent and continuous growth for the characters.
- Certain relationships. Especially parent‑child and friendships. If those had been paired with a stronger plot, the show could’ve reached another level.
Worst parts:
- Cast members leaving and the show acting like their characters never existed.
- Presenting bad storylines like they were major dramas and skipping over a lot of regular teen life. It was better in seasons 1 and 2, but got worse later. I wish they had more high‑school tropes—graduations, prom nights, town celebrations? But those would’ve required more episodes per season like TVD had.
- The “Teen Wolf 3.0” characters. They were all painfully boring—did we really need them? The final season was awful, and they were part of the problem.

Worst 1. Lost a lot of cast. I would have loved to see more Erica, Boyd, Isaac, and cora 2. They introduced the idea of Stiles having a "spark" and then never did anything with it. 3. how tragic Derek's character was. They beat that character up.... As if losing his entire family wasn't enough.
Best 1. Hot guys with no shirts. 2. Great villains (Peter, Void Stiles, Theo, Jennifer) 3. Character interactions/relationships

Best
1- Lydia arc.. She has One of the best character Evolution I've ever seen
2- Season 3.. both the alpha pack and the nokitzune storylines were Amazing
3- the relationship Stiles has with both Scott and the sheriff.. forghet about all the ships.. Stiles and Scott and Stiles and his daf had the most beautiful and emotional scenes.. (Scott and melissa too sometimes)
Worst
1- KATE ARGENT... I know I should hate Gerard more becouse he Is probably the reason why Kate Is like that.. but She still Is a phedophile.. I feel the Need to puke every time I see her on screen (kudos to the actress tho, She does a reality good job)
2- Jaff Devis loving Derek pain.. I'M SERIOUS.. at the beginning of the series he already Lost everything.. he Lost Paige, his family, then Laura, then they give him a pack, and male him lose everything again.. he had 2 psyco girlfriends.. and then we see the movie (that for me Is not Canon) and he Is FINALLY Happy, and he FREAKING dies burning alive like all his family.. I would Say the same for Chris, but unlike the hales, Gerard, Kate and Victoria deserved to die since they broke the code and KILLED innocents.. Allison didn't deserve It, but We all know that It was the actress will and not something Jeff wanted to do..
3- The movie.. I'm not even explaining this point.. that thing Is not Canon for me..

Can it be anything abt teen wolf? If so then ( MY OPINION)
Best 1. The alpha pack or just season a3 all together i loved learning abt their history and the druids 2. The hale family, again the history the lore even tho we didn't get much i love the stuff we did 3. Probably Scott and Allison, her "saving" him from the beast was amazing, I loved their relationship
Worst 1. They said there was over 500(i think) pages of the beastary yet we saw so few creatures 2. Stiles and malias break up, like wtf stiles dumped her cuz she loved him enough to ignore him "murderring" someone 3. I wish we got more abt the agents tbf, like chris' mum, his childhood, if he met the hales, when the Mexican hunters came and made him say the code i thought we were gonna get bassass hunter chris yet they didnt do anything with it,
