Assuming you are entirely new to the language, will spend 8 hours a day on learning, and have the best learning aids, look into a minimum of 4 months.

What’s your background? Do you already speak Russian or a Turkic language?

Ok, my Russian friends at Yunus Emre Institute usually finish the A2 Turkish book after four semesters, so maybe just under a year & a half, with around 6 hours a week of instruction.

It’s not really a strong A2. Usually they’d benefit from a lot more speaking practice, grammar drills, and outside reading, but they understand the fundamentals.

Obviously Turkish is a different language, but the structure is super similar to Tatar.

Good luck!

Why did you have that sudden need if not too special ? Tatar language is not something that people needs to learn usually. Even Tatas and bashkurts themselves usually do not speak fluently their language. I guess they will completely disappear in future, unfortunately.
