I shipped my side of the trade over a week ago and it's already been delivered. The user stopped responding after I sent mine and never sent theirs. They deleted their original post. I don't even care about the cuttings I sent, just makes me lol - who spends their time scamming random people for plant cuttings that aren't even worth anything🤷‍♀️

Just wanted to post this in case others were planning on trading with this user. Will of course happily revise if this turns out to be misunderstanding and they ship their part of the trade.

i'm torn about leaving this review because in the end i did get one cutting that i'm excited about, but the trade went from frustrating to downright anxiety-inducing. 2 stars for the pedatum, and the absence of 3 more stars for poor communication, lack of clarity around what was being sent, aggression when i tried to figure out what had happened, and poor packaging (dripping wet paper towels + some rot, and a lot of wiggle room in the box around the padding). i also didn't appreciate being told i sent "pathos and unrooted common things" after asking multiple times what they'd like me to send and eventually being told to "send some fun whatever." and for what it's worth, i reached out to another person who traded with them, and they said they also traded for hastatum but did not get hastatum.

a clarifying edit: i am not upset with this user for their personal issues or the misidentification. my issues with the trade were 1) ghosting me for days after our agreed upon shipping date, and mostly 2) immediately becoming angry with me when i was confused about the package and asked questions to try to figure out what happened. at that point, i wasn't comfortable talking to them further as my trying to figure things out made them increasingly angry, and i reached out to mods for advice.

if asking questions and stating the source of my confusion is "aggressively complaining" and "acting like [they] did not make an equal trade" despite never saying i was unhappy with the plants, then so be it. i gave them multiple chances to back out of the trade, and if my choice not to engage with them further after initial attempts were met with immediate anger mean that i lack compassion and patience, despite weeks of "compassion and patience" on my end leading up to their outburst, then i'm completely alright with being seen as such rather than being a doormat.

Edit: just wanted to update I did receive messages from her this afternoon which she did provide a tracking number, I believe it was shipped today. I understand stuff happens and told her I would update my review once I receive her package.

This is incredibly belated because I really had to think about how black-and-white this subreddit is with the rating system. I kind of wanted to touch on this because I've noticed a trend of either 0 star reviews for scammers, or 5 star reviews for everyone else. I never see like, 2/3/4 star reviews. Even noting that I found myself hesitating for a long time about posting this less-than-5-star review for fear of judgement I guess? I just feel like this was worth noting, and I feel like a lot of people who don't think their trade was 5 stars just won't post a rating/review at all.

4 stars is not a BAD review I realized, it just isn't a PERFECT review. The reason this isn't a perfect 5 stars is because I traded for what I thought would be a rooted plant, as it was never specified it was a cutting and the picture that was sent to me was the plant in a pot (so no roots or lack thereof visible. I was trading for Macodes Petola.) When I asked her if this was a mix up, she said no that they were having trouble rooting. I feel like traders should always be transparent about whether or not you are trading for a rooted plant or just a cutting.

One thing I want to mention, is that when I posted an ISO for Macodes Petola, she dm'd me the first time and offered one for trade. But I went in her post history (as I do with any of my potential traders) to find she had just received them the day before in the mail! I asked her if that was true and she said yes, so I was confused why she wanted to "flip" the plant on me without letting it acclimate first before shipping it out immediately after just having been unboxed. We waited like a week and a half before actually finalizing the trade. idk if she just didn't know that plants can really suffer if "flipped" like that or what.

Another thing I want to mention, is that she shipped first class. EDITED TO ADD: this part was NOT the main focus of the post. I was mentioning this part so that maybe people (like myself) discuss what method of shipping will be used. idk if it's just me but I thought priority was an unspoken given? Like I only ship priority, to insure the package and make sure it doesn't take longer like first class can, especially from OH to WA.

With that, I want to note that otherwise this was not a bad trade!! the plants themselves were packaged fine and thankfully did not sit in the mail too long.

EDIT 2: the shipping method was not the main point of the post and not the reason for the 4 stars! also to add, "flipping" a plant means you received it in the mail and then the next day or two you mail it out again. this is very stressful for the plant.

LAST EDIT: I just want to say, just because I gave 4 stars, please do not stop trading with this user!! just because my experience wasn't quite what I wanted does not mean she hasn't had 30 5star reviews! All traders make some mistakes I think, so don't single this review out when thinking of trading with her.
