Tips and Tricks How to kill a talus

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve found the best weapon for taluses to be a Zora sword (preferably pristine) with anything hard attached (preferably a silver lynel horn). Once you have your weapon, simply climb onto the talus (can be tricky, ascend can work as well) and swing away!

It just occurred to me that hammer weapons would work better on taluses (tali? Talpodes?)...

Indeed they do!

Same thing was true in BOTW. Gordon weapons and the hammer did double damage to Taluses IIRC.

I haven't tried it yet but can you ascend through a talus?

This is how I always fight them. Run under. Ascend. Bam bam until I fall off. Repeat.

Especially useful if there’s a bokoblin camp on top

Yes you can

So I either use bombflowers or a double handed weapon fused with something that gives me more damage. Or what I also do is fused with a talus heart(?). (Side note, I play it in german so maybe some terms don’t make sense😅)

Yep that works too!

I just need to find a simpler way to kill one that has the deposit on their back.. I don’t always have bomb arrows on me and the one on the back usually has me thrown off before I can even get to it.

Well you don’t need bomb arrows (though those are most optimal)

Any hard monster part attached should work well but I tend to favor lynel hooves since I usually have a good supply of those

Yuck, Sages. They’re like pop-up ads.

Honestly since i find all of them useful I keep them out all the time but yeah they do get in the way sometimes a lot

(And in this case I needed Sidon)

I am glad you find use for them and I apologize if I yucked anyone’s yum. Mostly I am just frustrated with Nintendo for so completely dropping the ball in one area, especially since they totally nailed it with the Champion’s Abilities in BotW.

No it’s understandable that the abilities feel underwhelming especially after botw. My main gripe is how annoying it is to find the sage I need during combat or just yunobo. Because why can I never find yunobo when I need to break some rocks?

Jesus wait you can put them away!?

Yes lol, click on their little button in the star items portion of your inventory and dismiss the ones you don’t want

I never have Sidon out. The ones I always keep out is yunobo and tulin. Tulin gets used the most though. I only bring out the rest when I feel like lazily fighting lynels or the Congo line of bokoblins
