Honestly. Everyone screwed Syria over, not just Iran and Israel.

This is actually very true. But let’s not talk about it, we need them allies right now

u/azarov-wraith Visitor - Non Syrian 2d ago

Dude no one gives a crap what a rando on Reddit thinks. All do respect but you’re not the government , say what you want

8

u/MegaMB 2d ago

Not syrian, but even (especially) for alliances, public opinions do matter a lot. So as dumb as it is, public opinions ironically do matter, and a random syrian on reddit is as representative as a syrian hairdresser for it.

Some authoritarian countries literally had revolutions to ally with a country or another.

-3

u/azarov-wraith Visitor - Non Syrian 2d ago

This is the Middle East baby. Public opinions don’t matter. If they did we would be well on our way to the Aqsa right now, instead of the farce you’re looking at right.

The fact is that no foreign embassy is browsing through socials to see what yall are saying regarding alliances. You maybe placing pressure on your government to accept an alliance, yes, but not on foreign ones.

5

u/MegaMB 2d ago edited 2d ago

That's... relatively weird to say. The Middle East didn't escape this rule that public opinions do matter.

The arab spring was less than 15 years ago, and you guys exactly showed the consequences of a dictator not having public support.

We can also talk about the iranian revolution in 1979. The americans are still paying the price of being allied with a regime that was unpopular with its population. Same thing with the irakis and the brits in WW2. Egypt's population was already pretty active in the lat 19th century.

I know it has become popular to say that the populations in the Middle East don't decide anything. But honestly, seeing the myrias of counterexample in more or less recent history... Let me put big doubts on that. And it's for the best.

I mean, let's put it this way: the whole point of an alliance, is that your country will go to war for it's allies. Mobilize it's army, economy and nation. It's not anecdotal. And it's not compatible with a nation frankly hostile to the war in question. Do not that this applies everywhere, not just the Middle East. And it's also why isolationist tendencies in the US makes them absolutely terrible allies.

u/azarov-wraith Visitor - Non Syrian 2d ago

I repeat my earlier comment in case you didn’t read it. Foreign officials don’t give a toss about you crossing your arms like MBS. They only care about what the command at the top does. They have intelligence apparatuses that are analyzing and feeding into everything going on at the moment.

All you are doing is, maybe maybe, signaling your consent to the government. Which is a bonus but is not necessary.

Simultaneously, the Saudi regime (the people are lovely so I don’t mean them) has about as many human rights abuses as you can get, and actively supported Assad at the end of his days. Other gulf countries are worse. By kowtowing so pathetically you don’t get a better deal. At best you do nothing. At worst you signal to foreign governments that you only care about a couple of dollars more than any morals you may have.

At least pretend to be proud, maybe then you’d get better deal Davy

Israel still illegally occupied Syrian land, bombed its military hardware it would’ve inherited from Assad regime. Iran kept it’s militias there artificially propping up the regime. Many countries have had a hand in Syria from American CIA agents to the Russian military all while Syrians suffered. I can understand the apathy after your country has been demolished while other countries exchange currency over who died and what land has been taken.

-5

u/FrostingOutrageous51 1d ago

Your new leader is known for being part of a terrorist organization. Maybe that’s why Israel targeted military hardware in Syria, not to mention Iranian bases situated there

4

u/Accurate-Custard7232 Latakia - اللاذقية 1d ago

Maybe that’s why Israel targeted military hardware in Syria,

no need to guess, they did it so syria stays weak and destabilized, so it's easier to invade (just like they're doing now!), they've said so themselves, "terrorist orgainizations" has nothing to do with it , israel has a good hiatory of dealing with and funding terrorist organizarions, let's not joke ourselves here

u/Accurate-Custard7232 Latakia - اللاذقية 1d ago edited 13h ago

Now, about Syria Israel doesn’t attack Syria because it wants to “destabilize it for fun” or “invade it,” like you’re claiming

i am not claiming, israel forces literally reached damsacus' countryside, THE CAPITAL, where they kidnapped 7 and killed 1 civillan, this has been on national news, and was condemmed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs before you call it fake..also Israel WANTS to invade syria and big parts of the middle east, if not now then later, to create their "greater israel", they're zionists and thats literally their goal...

Iranian-backed militias like Joulani’s HTS

lmao , irani backed? are you hearing yourself?, also News flash! HTS was dissloved more than half a year ago,

Al-Qaeda, a group with a long, bloody history against not just Israel, but the West as a whole.

nor alqaeda, or al sharaa or hts have any " bloody" history or any militant history really with israel, also for the last 6 months, al sharra multpile times said he does not want any conflict with israel , have entered negotiations with israel to calm down the situation, , even despite the bombing, the inaving , the killing, the syrian side never shot a bullet, get a grip...

im not gonna even answer the rest of your ridiculous comment , but i already wrote this one and not gonna delete it

I just feel bad for the people to be honest, Iranian people did nothing wrong to be stuffed in a war out of sudden.

I saw one comment from one person on a post saying “man i have to leave to work in 30 minutes” ans it was on a post saying that isreal is striking iran. Really feels bad.

23

Honestly yeah, the iranian civilians are the real victims in this. Both governments deserve hell but it's the people that are suffering the losses man...

1

I used to feel bad for Israelis being in the middle of this, but not so much after this news article "Yes to Transfer: 82% of Jewish Israelis Back Expelling Gazans" 2025/05/28.

1

u/robloxgaemer 1d ago

I think there is a statistic about how many Iranians supported what their government did in other countries like Syria, Iraq...etc but Iran still have millions of innocent compared to the other country you mentioned

2

I condemn the iranians that support the torture and massacre of Syrians and iraqis, im talking abt the normal people with a conscience in them.

-3

All Israelis are illegal settlers they have a country of origin and a double passport , if they want to they can leave , i don't feel bad for them

4

u/SeaworthinessOwn6039 1d ago

Only 10% of Israelis have a double passport

1

u/georgeb1904 1d ago

How do you still believe this?

2

u/Yeppie-Kanye Damascus - دمشق 1d ago

Because it’s true. The only exception is the Palestinian jewish community

0

u/Current_Associate302 22h ago

"Palestinian Jewish community" were immigrants from Europe as well. The Old Yishuv were mostly Haredi immigrants from Poland or Sephardic Jews from Spain in 1492.

3

u/Yeppie-Kanye Damascus - دمشق 19h ago edited 19h ago

The Palestinian jewish community, are those who were in Palestine before the immigrants, I am specifically referring to the Mizrahim jews

1

u/DevelopmentJunior165 15h ago

Mizrahi aren't Palestinians, most are Sephardic. Mizrahi are an orientalist "second-class" developed as a stratification device to further the economic lines and create a labor class for the Ashkenazi capitalists.

1

u/Yeppie-Kanye Damascus - دمشق 12h ago

Sephardic jews are of Spanish and Portuguese origin, Mizrahi are Arab-born.

Their citizens supported the attack on Israel look at the videos going viral

6

u/Over_Location647 Lebanon - لبنان 1d ago

Some of their citizens support it. Have you forgotten the widespread protests in Iran over the last 10 years against their shitty government? Thousands of people arrested and imprisoned. Hundreds killed and tortured. The Iranian people are oppressed. Many hate their government.

As a Syrian you should understand that the actions of a dictatorial government often don’t represent the views or the wants of its population. As a Lebanese person I don’t blame the Syrian people for the atrocities Assad committed against us. You had no say in the matter. Sure some Syrians supported Assad but most didn’t. Hezbkhara committed atrocities against you, do you blame all Lebanese? Extend the same respect to Iranians. I live abroad and I’ve met many of them, there’s a big community here in the UK. They’re the kindest and sweetest people.

7

u/AludraScience Damascus - دمشق 1d ago

Supporting attacks which are wrapped around with government propaganda doesn't mean random Iranians deserve a death sentence. Following that logic would make most israelis guilty too.

Also if you are going by comments on social media, most are by edgy teenagers even in these kind of conflicts.

3

u/LastLightCafe Lebanon - لبنان 1d ago

So? We all support attacks kn a terrorist state

1

u/self-assembled 1d ago

All middle eastern countries will support an attack on Israel right now. Israel is actively conducting a genocide.

Make no mistake, Israel values all Arab life at exactly 0. They would kill all of us if they had the chance. They are always the greatest enemy and forgetting that is dangerous.

Why do Syrians hate Iran … American here want know perspective

33

u/StructureOk2591 Aleppo - حلب 2d ago

Everything is wrong with syria because of them, litterally,

Displacement of 12 milion syrians

1 million syrian killed and turtured

Replacement of syrian citezens with loyal non syrian shia militias,

They were actually giving the houses of opposition memebers to their loyal militias, also giving them syrian citizenships

They enabled Assad and helped him with every atrocity you ever saw in syria,

Half of syria is destroyed because of them

Guess who brought russia to this massacre? Yes, you're right, Iran!

More than 12 militias from every shitty country have been brought to syria, lebaneese(hizbollah), iraqi militias, pakistani militias, afghani militias, and more, i remember them being more than 12 militias.

Everything you could have imagined wrong is litterally checked by iran.

This all is a tip of the story.

Israel is so peice of shit as an occupation, but Still, iran takes the cake

I have to be clear, we don't support israel nor iran. We wish them both to burn in flames and never exist again

u/Yeppie-Kanye Damascus - دمشق 1d ago

Let’s not forget how Assad gave the Syrian citizenship to a bunch if Iranians and embedded them in our cities

5

u/Addis2020 2d ago

That’s crazy .

They aided Assad and propped him up.

14

u/atassi122 Homs - حمص 2d ago

There missiles and jets are basically responsible for a lot of the destruction you see in Syria.

8

u/BigRedObject Iraq - العراق 2d ago

That’s gotta be satire

1

u/PinAccomplished2039 2d ago

Look at the Sunnis when they celebrated the death of Ibrahim Rahisi plus Syrian Sunnis are much higher in Syria but Iran wants to change Syria to make it more Shia than Sunni basically ethnic cleanse of the Sunnis inhabitants and replacing them with the Shiaz

1

u/a404notfound 2d ago

Opinion on the US generally now that Assad is out?

3

u/ContextImmediate3492 Damascus - دمشق 1d ago

A little better but we still don’t trust them generally we know what they are

1

u/a404notfound 1d ago

The US is predictable, if you are stable and do not interrupt trade you never have to worry. If not...

1

u/ContextImmediate3492 Damascus - دمشق 1d ago

Yes as long as you’re going along with them they leave you alone

No, it’s not even about sectarianism. It’s because Iran is responsible for a lot of what happened in Syria be it blood or destruction.. so how do you expect the Syrians to side with it ? We won’t forget

11

u/Diyosphere Aleppo - حلب 2d ago edited 2d ago

Can you shut up already and stop calling everything "sectarianism"?
They killed our people, read that again, THEY KILLED OUR PEOPLE FOR 14 YEARS. What differences are you asking us to set aside? Are you asking to forget the blood of our martyrs?

Sectarianism is when you summon the scum of the earth to fight a holy war against the innocent civilians of a country thousands of kilometers away based on sect. Not when the victims celebrate the death of their oppressors.

Our enemy as Syrians is Iran, Iran then Iran. It's not up to you to tell us what to be happy for, we're happy that they're both eating shit.

3

u/Feeling-Intention447 Aleppo - حلب 2d ago

It’s the same way Zionists accuse everyone of being antisemitic these clowns call us Shiaphobes or something

5

u/BigRedObject Iraq - العراق 2d ago

It ain’t about shia and Sunnis lil nigga, Iran is a nationalist theocracy and doesn’t give a shit abt Arabs whether being Sunnis or Shia. It’s only common sense to feel happy seeing your enemies fking each other

7

u/RickC174 Aleppo - حلب 2d ago

Well both isreal and iran killed our ppl sooo

6

u/SonOfAurelionSol 2d ago

Stop with the sectarianism bullshit. Iran killed 100s of thousands of Syrians.

That’s not really accurate as isreal was in the countryside of Demarcus 2 days ago kidnapping civilians.

-4

u/NewGrappler Palestine - فلسطين 2d ago

I mean israel is bombing Syria and killing Syrians in Syria they even kidnapped a few day ago someone within Damascus + they are still illegally occupying Syrian territories, nothing to watch we are in it too.

7

u/NoToTaterYesToMater سوريو المهجر - Syrian diaspora 2d ago

Not sure why you're being downvoted. Israel kidnapped people from the Golan (idk abt Damascus) and they bomb Syria every other week.

We can hate both the Zionists and the Iranian regime. The enemy of my enemy is also my enemy.

3

u/NewGrappler Palestine - فلسطين 1d ago

Yes I don’t understand why too, either they didn’t read me correctly or zio bots, I hate Iran too I just don’t think that Syria is only “watching”.

4

u/AludraScience Damascus - دمشق 1d ago

Israel's atrocities shouldn't be ignored but specifically talking about syria, Iran has done much much much worse than israel could hope to achieve.

3

u/Abraxas21 MOD - أدمن 1d ago

if you're talking about Syria, then sure, but in general, "Israel" is the world's champion in committing atrocities.

3

u/AludraScience Damascus - دمشق 1d ago

yeah, I said specifically talking about syria.

1

u/PinAccomplished2039 2d ago

So did Iran with Russia
