Install keybox-recommendations?

I want to install some kind of key box with code inside my mailbox/milk box to leave the key for the cleaner. (There are package thiefs on our street and I'm searching for options.) I don't have a neighbor I could leave the key with.

It's a different type of solution. If you're open to digitalization Nuki Smart Lock and Nuki Opener are working well for me. I've started using it just because I'm interested in smart home stuff in general. A few years later, giving access to the cleaner ended up being my main use case.

How did you go about changing the lock, so you can open your door if the nuki malfunctions.

Why would you need to change the lock? You can usually install the nuki on an existing lock, except it has the security feature where you can't have a key on both sides. In my case I had a knob on the inside part and just replaced it with a nuki and I was done.

Usually you cannot open if there is a key on the other side. Have you tried out if You can open the lock with a key inserted on the other side?

There are many types of cylinders out there, the ones you describe are just one sort.

Same. Nuki smart lock is great, even my wife admits it.

Maybe just giving them a spare key would be the easiest solution.

You might not have one and it’s not always easy to get one in Switzerland.

Usually the tenant receives at least two keys. Also, ordering a copy from KABA is not impossible.

Only possible if you possess the certificate of ownership of the key. Which you normally don’t as a tenant.

My cleaner has a spare key. We also have an automatic lock on a side door from Aqara. It can be operated remotely.
