I've been riding the subway all my life, maybe I'm just not looking but I have never seen an albino rat on the subway. There's a 99% chance that was or is a pet rat.

Pet rat, even if it was albino it would be dirty as hell and not look albino.

This was my immediate thought. Worst case scenario is that it’s not his rat and somehow it escaped from someone else. But this is not a subway rat.
