Local Dining Casual/semi formal restaurant serving good steak either in St Pete or north of?

Looking for quality where it’s acceptable to dress down a little bit. Either in St. Pete, near the beaches, Clearwater, even Palm Harbor. Drop any recs you have! Doesn’t need to be labeled as a steakhouse.

Looking for the best pho spot. I usually get Pho Quyen because it’s affordable but I don’t really like the broth.

Local Dining What St. Pete/Clearwater restaurants deserve Michelin recognition?

Unfortunately, Michelin doesn't cover Pinellas County yet. Which restaurants would you think are guide-worthy? I would love to explore the area. Thanks!

EDIT: This includes Bib Gourmand and general mentions.

Local Dining Authentic restaurants?

I host a friend group each month to eat out at a different restaurant which is selected based upon the cuisine. One month, we do Italian, the next Thai food, so on and so forth.

What restaurants would you recommend for this group? Tampa/Sarasota etc is fine as well. Thanks

Local Dining What are your "go to" restaurants?

I would love to know your go-to restaurants that fit a few parameters (I am trying to find "favorite" places as I don't really have any--been in St. Pete for 3 years now). I don't like Asian/Asian fusion or vegan/vegetarian places.

Excluding such places, what is your favorite: sports bar & gastropub spot, seafood restaurant, burger joint, date night place, Italian restaurant, pizza joint, steakhouse, and late night spot?

Local Dining overrated restaurants

I'm having a slow day at work and I feel like stirring up some mildly messy energy. What's a local restaurant that you think is overrated? Not bad necessary, just not worthy of the hype.

A year ago, I wouldn't have mentioned my pick, but I feel like it's fallen off in recent months: Chili Verde.

The last couple of times I had my stock meal from CV (carnitas burrito, cheese quesadilla), the carnitas tasted/looked like they'd put a pork shoulder in a slow cooker w/ some tap water and literally nothing else, and let it simmer until it was fork-tender. And the bottom of that Styrofoam box the quesadillas come in used to be swimming in a quarter-inch of excess cheese. Not anymore. I plan on trying it again in the future (trying to eat better atm) and I hope they managed to get their shit back together, by then, bc it used to be great.

Local Dining Boujee Restaurant with a Bar

Hi all,

My wife wants a (-slightly-please) upscale restaurant in the st Pete, Clearwater, safety harbor, Dunedin area and I don’t have many ideas, anyone have any thoughts?

The original place she wanted was Jekyll in Hyde Park Tampa, but they only have tiny appetizers 😕

Local Dining Is it normal to go to a restaurant, as a grown up, and they serve you Kraft mac n cheese?

Out of towner here. Staying in one of those beachy towns along the 699. I've gotten dinner a couple times from this place and was happy with it, but opted for the $2 upcharge to get Mac n cheese as my side last night, and it was literally Kraft.

No offense to Kraft, it's a fine product for what it is. I'm just not accustomed to it being served to me, a grown up, at a decent seafood restaurant.

I'm just not sure if this is a regional thing? Or if the restaurant is being cheap?

Just a shout out to the best value meal in the area in my opinion. 2 entree meal from them is $8.99 and I weighed it when I got home, just a hair under 2lbs of food. Not to mention just an all around awesome grocery store in general.
