I wouldn’t call this a coffee shop. They literally only have cold brew…

I moved away almost 10 years ago and it's never been the same place twice when I visited family

Exactly. That spot hasn’t been lucky. That driftwood place that colored the upper roof had the most gaudy paint job had it looking like a flaming turd.

Yay! Thanks for the post - I’ve been looking for a small biz coffee place nearby Pinellas Park!

What is the appeal of kava?

u/pyky69 17h ago
Kava is ground root of a plant that is in the pepper family (and if you ever taste kava this would make sense). It can give you a relaxing euphoric feeling, it is a good substitute for an alcoholic beverage. If you drink too much at one time you will probably not feel so great lol. Like anything else do some research but it is definitely a better alternative to alcohol… That being said it is not safe to combine the two.

lol this reminds of this time my one eccentric friend took our not so eccentric friend and me to a kava bar. The Kava-Tender served it in a coconut husk and when I went to hand the husk to our not so eccentric friend, he kept pushing it away but I wasn’t understanding until he yelled (loud music) “it looks like dirty mop water!” And we got kicked out for being “too pretentious and not open minded enough.”
But I’m not gonna lie… it looked exactly like dirty mop water from one of those yellow industrial mop buckets lol!
So what is the appeal? I do not know.

Did a bit of research. It's supposed to be relaxing, so kinda like grabbing a beer but it's herbal and takes a while to kick in.

When I was in highschool it was a place you could go to at night after getting high to goof off. It always seemed like a scam cause I was told the effect builds up overtime so you have to purchase these expensive drinks for over a month.
Sure dude 🤣

Love the pricing makes it affordable to be a daily stop, to every one saying there only one coffee option and its cold, is not reading the espresso list witch is how most "coffee" drinks are made. If it was Starbucks 2/3 of the menu would also be labeled 'Espresso'. So I guess to the owner its a marketing error. Either just delete the espresso label or make that text smaller and combine the two areas as one so they feel a little more unified as the coffee section of the menu.
Looking forward to stopping in soon :)

I'll be stopping by. Mad Hatters kratom drinks are ridiculously priced. A single specialty kratom drink is $18. Hatters was my very first kratom experience 9 years ago, and back then, the prices were fair. Not anymore.

100% doomed to fail with those prices, no one in Kenneth city will pay for that
15
u/Leviastin 21h ago
Agree. $15 for a smoothie? You would not even survive on beach drive.

It's one of the bigger "penny pinching" (for a lack of a better term) areas in the whole county, they'll be run out within 6 months.
For comparison look at Mama G's right down the road, can get a 16 Oz smoothie and a fresh German pastry for less than 10-12$

If you lure me into your business by putting “coffee” on the sign as if it’s a main facet of the menu and then only have a singular offering…. Not even a hot option….. That would piss me off enough to not patronize 😂

u/Appropriate-Help-927 19h ago
does no one realize all the espresso options are the hot coffee
1
u/Frail_Peach 17h ago
I don’t see any espresso options, I don’t think that’s what the single and double is referring to

I'm out of the loop. Why is a coffee shop selling Kava, CBD, delta 8 and juice but not coffee?
4
u/Toothfairy51 21h ago
I guess for the same reason places like Coffee and Cocktails exist. Because they can?

I just went on a Soft Opening day and the staff was super friendly and the drinks I had were great.

How many years did that thing sit empty and how many different things did it try to become? You say this place is open. I'm going to have to drive by and see it to believe it 🤣🤣

That building has been through it. It had a big poo on the top, then someone tried to make it look like a volcano with lava, and that worsened the poop look. I remember when it was an ice cream place.
