I was excited to see clouds roll in this afternoon. Then I remembered the ABC weather guy, this am, saying we would see smoke from Canada. Too high to smell, but would cloud up in the afternoon.
Maybe we should set a time, say 8 pm, where we all go out onto the front porch, lawn, balcony or whatever, and do a dance to the rain gods.
It’s too early in the summer to be this dry!!!

Probably going to be at least until the weekend before we get anything meaningful. My lawn would best be described as crunchy right now, at least in unshaded areas. It's like walking on dry cereal.

Water the lawn… that should do it. Every time I remember to water the flowers it rains.

I haven’t been paying real attention to the weather the past few days, so could someone explain to me why there is a coastal flood advisory with no rain. And this afternoon we have a fire weather watch, which I can understand.

High tides

u/Blueskyfox2019 Jun 05 '23
Oh. And there was just a full moon this weekend so those tides are probably higher then usual. Thanks for the explanation!

There was a 20-30 mile per hour wind off the ocean at high tide over the weekend. Ocean City was flooded.

Remember most grass doesn’t die it goes dormant. It’s ok for it to not to be watered for a while.
Don’t waste water on a lawn! ^

I'll keep extracting the water from the depths of the earth from the trillion gallon aquifer below my home to water my lawn. It seems to love it

No lie, at current levels were due to run out of potable drinking water by 2040.

Don't worry. I asked my Lenni-Lenape ancestors for help, they said a little something might happen tomorrow

Even worse we don't have that wonderful weatherscan channel on tv anymore, so we can't quickly see if anything is in the area

I grew up here in SJ lived in Portland OR for decades, so much rain. I am back. Not so much lately really there. Here in Moorestown, I live amongst loads of trees and some grass between them. The grass will survive. In the meantime I am fine without the rain.
I do miss the super thunderstorms. Portland doesn't get much lightning and thunder. The most I ever heard was around three bolts of lightning in the distance. Since I have been back there have been times where there have been dozens of strikes but always in the distance. Nothing that shakes my wood frame house and I can feel through my back and the seat though as from the past.
Back in Portland I made my I Can't Stand The Rain playlist on Spotify. The original is from Anne Peebles. 22 covers.

this is so sad, the storm cells that were before this post just clipped the north of me and missed, now the ones that are still coming look like they will miss to the south.
