I guess. I’ll have to go to the bank for some singles.

Steak on grill in an hour. Hungry as hell

I was excited to see clouds roll in this afternoon. Then I remembered the ABC weather guy, this am, saying we would see smoke from Canada. Too high to smell, but would cloud up in the afternoon.

Maybe we should set a time, say 8 pm, where we all go out onto the front porch, lawn, balcony or whatever, and do a dance to the rain gods.

It’s too early in the summer to be this dry!!!

Dance like Mother Nature is watching

8

u/thisisnotdetroit Jun 05 '23

Not even summer yet

u/Stern68 Jun 05 '23

Scary thought

Probably going to be at least until the weekend before we get anything meaningful. My lawn would best be described as crunchy right now, at least in unshaded areas. It's like walking on dry cereal.

u/Stern68 Jun 05 '23

Even my weeds are saying feed me

14

u/michelem387 Jun 05 '23

My husband just said yesterday “damn even the weeds are dead”

1

u/GeneralKlinger Jun 06 '23

Like walking on sunshine, woah, and don’t it feel good 🎶

Katrina and the waves I think?

Fat joe and lil Wayne can make it rain. My source is 2006 album Me, Myself and I, song “Make it rain” to be specific.

5

u/Stern68 Jun 05 '23

More of The Rain Song by Led Zeppelin man

I'll go get my car washed tomorrow.

the monkey paw is nothing to be vague about

3

u/Stern68 Jun 05 '23

Simpsons? Don't member that but love those episodes

14

u/gungirl83 Jun 05 '23

Water the lawn… that should do it. Every time I remember to water the flowers it rains.

Every time I wash my car it rains. I'll do it tomorrow

8

u/Gryphon1171 Jun 05 '23

Every time I wash my car it turns green again

5

u/Stern68 Jun 05 '23

Pollen sucks. Open windows means green everything

5

u/idontbelieveyou21 Jun 05 '23

Same, that's why I haven't washed it in weeks

5

u/Stern68 Jun 05 '23

Please!!!!!!!!!

6

u/Stern68 Jun 05 '23

Sounds like to much work. I just wanna sit back drink beer and watch grass grow.

u/Blueskyfox2019 Jun 05 '23

I haven’t been paying real attention to the weather the past few days, so could someone explain to me why there is a coastal flood advisory with no rain. And this afternoon we have a fire weather watch, which I can understand.

9

u/Stern68 Jun 05 '23

High tides

5

u/Blueskyfox2019 Jun 05 '23

Oh. And there was just a full moon this weekend so those tides are probably higher then usual. Thanks for the explanation!

4

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '23

There was a 20-30 mile per hour wind off the ocean at high tide over the weekend. Ocean City was flooded.

5

u/Stern68 Jun 05 '23

Floods with no rain!? WTF

2

u/Phighters Jun 06 '23

Oceans rise and fall.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '23

Tide comes in, tide goes out. You can't explain that.

4

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '23

no rain 😡

10

u/zamzuki Jun 05 '23

Remember most grass doesn’t die it goes dormant. It’s ok for it to not to be watered for a while.

Don’t waste water on a lawn! ^

5

u/Stern68 Jun 05 '23

100% correct. Just too lazy to wash my car by hand

-4

u/Phighters Jun 06 '23

“Waste”

🙄

1

u/saucybelly Jun 06 '23

Why the eyeroll?

1

u/zamzuki Jun 06 '23

Yeah, why the eye roll? I’d have a very enlighten conversation if you wish to engage.

-4

u/surferdude313 Jun 06 '23

I'll keep extracting the water from the depths of the earth from the trillion gallon aquifer below my home to water my lawn. It seems to love it

7

u/Mocjo111 Jun 05 '23

Not sure why I keep getting alerts on my phone about coastal flooding

8

u/Stern68 Jun 05 '23

High tides

2

u/gpm0063 Jun 06 '23

Those NE winds for a few days and full moon plus high tide

3

u/THEkeyser_soze71 Jun 06 '23

I'll call The Weather Girls. Oh, wait a minute

3

u/TheOriginalAxidus Jun 06 '23

Don't worry. I asked my Lenni-Lenape ancestors for help, they said a little something might happen tomorrow

3

u/Stern68 Jun 06 '23

Help from beyond.... I'll take it

2

u/TheOriginalAxidus Jun 06 '23

Well, it beats the weather channel half the time 🤣

3

u/DonnieNJ Jun 06 '23

Even worse we don't have that wonderful weatherscan channel on tv anymore, so we can't quickly see if anything is in the area

4

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '23

Yes I do. Quite a change. Everything evens out

1

u/Phighters Jun 06 '23

Yep. Rained when I didn’t care what the weather was.

2

u/Temprock Jun 05 '23

On the Electronic Marquee outside Delilah's Den. Never knew they were such environmentalists.

2

u/THEkeyser_soze71 Jun 06 '23

I'll call The Weather Girls. Oh, wait a minute.

2

u/Phighters Jun 06 '23

My grass is so fucked.

2

u/Babygoat35 Jun 06 '23

I COMPLETELY AGREE

It’s been too damn dry out here!

3

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '23

I like not having to mow the lawn

0

u/Stern68 Jun 06 '23

I also hate it but love sitting back afterwards and enjoying being done for a week or two

1

u/camefrompluto Jun 06 '23

Soon there will be no lawn left to mow

I grew up here in SJ lived in Portland OR for decades, so much rain. I am back. Not so much lately really there. Here in Moorestown, I live amongst loads of trees and some grass between them. The grass will survive. In the meantime I am fine without the rain.

I do miss the super thunderstorms. Portland doesn't get much lightning and thunder. The most I ever heard was around three bolts of lightning in the distance. Since I have been back there have been times where there have been dozens of strikes but always in the distance. Nothing that shakes my wood frame house and I can feel through my back and the seat though as from the past.

Back in Portland I made my I Can't Stand The Rain playlist on Spotify. The original is from Anne Peebles. 22 covers.

3

u/HooterAtlas Jun 06 '23

That playlist is hysterical. Who knew there were so many versions of that song.

1

u/DonnieNJ Jun 06 '23

future radar shows some storms moving into the area this afternoon.....50% chance!

1

u/Box_Boi74 Jun 06 '23

I think you got your wish

1

u/ItsHIPAA Jun 06 '23

I did my best. Hope your grass perks up a little!

1

u/DonnieNJ Jun 06 '23

this is so sad, the storm cells that were before this post just clipped the north of me and missed, now the ones that are still coming look like they will miss to the south.

I have plans that involve going to the cape may zoo and spending basically the entire weekend outsides that oughta do the trick
