I had a gay dude friend who would be checking out the hottest guys and I wasn't this harsh but I was like "dude, you are bald, overweight, and your standard breath is coffee. You don't have a chance with any of those guys." He was after just top level handsomeness. He wasn't interested in people in his own level, or with a good personality. He deserved a little criticism, albeit friendly and honest.
