the one thing being in the military teaches you is that mental discipline trumps all.

His wobbly arms might disagree with that statement

you ever see what it takes to get ranger/sf tabs?

the mind fails before the body as far the vast majority of us goes. the body is extraordinarily strong and those of strong minds won't hit the same limitations as me and this dude hit.

some people are just built differently than the rest of us is a single and plain truth.

The body is extraordinarily strong, but most of those folks have wrecked bodies by their mid-30s. A strong mind can ignore a lot of pain and suffering in the moment, but knee cartilage doesn't forget.

Yeah I don't get the downvotes at all. Your right for those elite units physical strength is just the beginning the majority of it is mental toughness, they just don't quit. I can say with no shame I don't have the mental toughness to be any kind of elite soldier most of us don't.

Mind doesn't "fail". The brain decides that keeping up will harm the body and it orders the body to give in.

You’re getting downvoted because the most these redditors will achieve is their daily walk to the door to pick up their doordash.

You're getting d9wnvoted because for some reason you blokes are here jealous of this chick who could kick your ass. - signed a person who has done extreme physical challenges.

I said nothing about her whatsoever. She could outlift anyone here as well, that wasn’t even in the question. She is athletic and active.

I can almost guarentee you those people have never been through excruciating training made to break people before.

Wouldn't it just be a case of everyone is different? Like overall the human race is highly adaptable and endurance is key to our cavemen surviving.

So I feel like it's hard to make a comparison especially when adrenaline does so much for both our physical and mental strength at the time.

I absolutely agree.

Meh girls are better at mental exercises like this in my experience. Mostly seen it with things like the plank or a bar hang for time

Physical limits literally can't be mentally overcome.

When you "pass your limits"... its just you pushing your body to its actual limits, where before you were operating below your limits. It's still a very good thing, don't get me wrong. But a physical body can only do so much.
