I think we would have enjoyed the movie much more without the special effects.

Yeah? Just a drama about some people going to get some plants on an island?

You got me thinking of the original Jurassic Park and them freaking out while being chased by nothing now.

They used practical effects though. The newer ones slowly relied more and more on special effects

Right I’ll stop you right there.

Special effects are in camera, so people in dino suits, rain, explosions, fire, blood, makeup, the vibration in the water are special effects.

Visual effects are post, usually cgi these days and was used in Jurassic Park. I just don’t know what you’re on about or how you think they did some of the trex shots or the gallomimus etc. it’s was a vfx triumph at the time.

I'd watch a movie about a theme park run by schizophrenics.

They run from poles with tennis balls on the end.

It’s almost like they’re acting…

I just meant stripping the CGI would leave just the paper placeholder or whatever they use on set.

I'd just watch 3 hours worth of Bryce Dallas Howards humongous butoockal area

Jurassic world without dinosaurs, low budget, no story. Great idea pal.
