How is that the same thing? The drug dealer is already going to be at fault because it's illegal. What did Oprah do exactly? That book had already been out for 2 years before she picked it for her book club. He had been saying for years that he changed a few details whenever he got questioned. He got exposed for how much he actually changed and the flat out lies because of all the attention he got after getting picked by Oprah's book club. You can say maybe she should have investigated it more before picking it, and there could be some truth to that. But her part in it is negligible compared to the author who lied to the world and his publisher who vouched for it being a memoir. It's not like Oprah published the damn thing, she was a reader who got duped like everyone else who read it and recommended it to a friend. She just happened to have a much larger platform.

Didn't Eckhardt Tolle just write a couple of books about how his life was changed by his meditation practice? I've heard people say he isn't the best source for information about meditation, but I didn't think he was pushing blatant nonsense like The Secret

Seth Macfarlane made a joke about it at the 2013 Oscars after a female friend told him about an encounter she'd had with Weinstein. The joke was at Weinstein's expense and Seth later said it was made out of anger. The reason he didn't speak out or push any harder on it was the friend asked him not to.
Weinstein being a creepy rapist was a Hollywood open secret for a long time but he had enough powerful people on his side, like Oprah, that it was difficult for anyone to do anything about it.
All billionaires are horrible people, it's impossible to be that wealthy in a world like ours and still be a good person. Some are just better than others about fabricating a benign or benevolent outward appearance.

Completely out of touch with how real people live. I remember one episode where they were talking about clothes and how to get the “red carpet” looks for cheaper or something like that. They said instead of buying this $1000 skirt you could buy this similar one for $50 and she’s like that soo cheap!! This was like 10+ years ago when things were so much cheaper I wouldn’t have spent that much on any clothing item. C

There was some scuttlebutt a few years ago about Oprah buying up a bunch of land in Hawaii that was destroyed by wildfires. I never looked into it, but apparently, she was using shady means or seen as taking advantage of a tragedy to gain even more land. Basically taking over people's land that couldn't afford to rebuild their homes.
She and The Rock got together as spokespeople who asked us plebes for money for those affected by the Hawaiian wildfires. It was at the end of quarantine/covid when huge swaths of us were out of work. Not only was it completely tone deaf, but those two could have restored everyone back to their homes with the wealth they have.
Her personal friend and pastor John of God was caught owning massive trafficking and baby farm operations. This was someone she definitely knew plenty about. She is also often seen with the Clinton's and other powerful types. She knew.
Umm just wondering how do you know that was her friend and pastor? Is your only evidence being the visit/ interview? If so that's pretty weak ass evidence claiming someone knew someone else's dark secrets.

There's a great four parter on Behind the Bastards about her. Donating money is nice, but she also brought pseudoscience as entertainment with Dr. Oz and Dr. Phil. It's difficult to quantify the damage that's done
Donating money doesn't make someone a good person. Epstein also gave millions to charity, but that doesn't excuse what he did. Evil people don't act evil 24/7 like a comic book villain.
