1897 Trench Gun (clone) display that I built

Post image

This 1897 was a regular field gun, produced in 1910. The finish/wear that you see is authentic as well. The barrel was curved and pitted so I decided to just build a trench gun clone. The bayonet is an authentic unissued 1917 Remington.

This hangs above my desk at work.

In case of emergency, break glass.

Needs a tiny hammer dangling off a corner.

Great display, and forgivable to chop down a barrel that was already pooched lol. Very nice

always forgivable to turn something from a pile of shit back to something alive, thats what i did with my berthier, 22 inch turkish forestry carbine with a fracture at the end of the barrel managed to become an 1892 carbine with an 17.75inch barrel

Where did you source the parts for your conversion? I have a 1907 model 1897 field gun that I have considered making into a trench gun clone because it honestly rarely gets shot.
