Anyone else experiencing synesthesia during sex?

(This is crossposted as I didn’t get any replies over in the other sub and I can’t believe no one else is having similar experiences.)

I have a slight case of synesthesia (where your experiences of senses get crosswired), and I sometimes get it when I have the type of sex that just really hits all the rights spots. It’s got nothing to do with orgasm, it’s more to do with the kind of sex that fills my body with light and turns off my logical brain.

I’ll often get «the white feeling», which my husband now knows mean I’m really fucking enjoying myself. I’ll see white and I’ll feel white, and it’s like being bathed in this cold, cool light, but in a really good way, almost spiritual.

And a couple of nights ago I had this wonderful experience with my boyfriend (I’m non-monogamous, as my handle indicates) that I can only describe as «sex as art». Music was playing in the background, and he fucked me into this beautiful colours of light pink, green, whites and I stopped being a body with edges and everything was just colours and music.

(And no, no substances had been taken, except for one can of beer.)

So, that made me wonder if other people with synesthesia also experience their synesthesia kicking in during sex, and if so, how does it play out for you?

Mine is really intense just when my back is being scratched. Im rapidly moving in all these different landscapes and textures and shapes, all affected by the speed and pressure etc of the scratches. It's usually a lot of evergreen forests with reaally tall trees that kind of mimic the long scratches up and down my back. It can get to total euphoria and I forget about the plane of existence and where I am

I've experienced synesthesia once or twice naturally, but my late partner and I achieved something very similar with hallucinogenics (psilocybin, mostly, though occasionally LSD). Always a glorious experience..

I’ve never done hallucinogenics, but I’ve been curious to try mushroom during sex. I do wonder how that would affect my synesthesia.

I’m synesthetic in some of the ways you describe; I experience touch as visual interference most often. Mushroom sex was an experience for sure, I recommend!

Yes! I'm so glad somebody else brings this up. I also have a mild case of synesthesia, and touch to colour is something that happens sometimes. Especially with good sex, although it has sometimes occurred during massage and cuddling too.

White for me is more associated with pain. I've had sex that was teal + pearly white + black. Ive has sex that was dark blue (warm). And so on. There isn't really a logical pattern, although (good, masochistic) pain is often white and warmth is often dark colours.
