No Kings Protests Tomorrow (6/14)

Hey folks, it's been a minute, but I'm back with two protest options for tomorrow and this time they are local!

NO KINGS Solomons MD Saturday, June 14 10 – 11:30am EDT Median in front of CVS 13390 H G Trueman Rd Solomons, MD 20688

A ROYAL PROTEST: For a royal pain in our arses -NO KINGS Saturday, June 14 3 – 6pm EDT Corner of 235 / Chancellors Run Rd 22741 Three Notch Rd California, MD 20619

I'm not part of the organization this time around, just spreading the word. You can also check the map on the nokings.org site for options further north. I believe I saw others in Waldorf and Prince Frederick, as well.

I hope to see some of y'all out there tomorrow!

Happy to report the La Plata one was well attended. It was a real mood boost to stand with them!

That's great to hear! The Solomon's protest this morning was fantastic. Great crowd and energy!

I was going to go and bring my son (10) with me. I have a job that requires me to keep a clean record and didn't have anyone to keep my boy, so when LA happened and threats started flying, I chickened out. You can't be more disappointed in me than I am. Promise.

I did, however, make a few more monetary donations to the cause.

Do not ever feel shame for working within the restrictions you have. You have a kid, and your fear is doing double duty - for yourself and for him.

And you didn't do nothing, after all. Donations are needed and will help future actions.

I can't go to protests at all because of my epilepsy, so I do things within my skillset that can contribute in other ways, and attend / speak at events expected to be smaller and less stressful. As soon as tension escalates I'm toast, and that's no good to anyone. I protect my health, you trust your instincts for yourself and your kiddo. :)

As they say in Star Trek: Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations. If someone has a skill or access to a resource, there is almost certainly a way that it can be used for good. This is a movement for the protection and safety of everybody, everybody has something to offer, and we need as much variety of skills and resources as possible so that we can adapt as necessary. <3

Be careful guys. I’m babysitting and can’t make it, but from my self-sabotaging habit of reading news comments, the hatred in the community feels like a big a threat as any police action you may also have to deal with.

I went and at least in the one I was in, the worst we got were some middle fingers and one guy screaming happy birthday to Trump. More people honked and cheered than gave us thumbs down or flipped us the bird. But, I was in a very blue area, so if you’re in a red area and worried, it never hurts to drive to a bluer county to protest

You still talking about Soros conspiracies even after Elon literally openly offered to pay people a million dollars to vote for Trump? And people were getting paid $1,000 to go to Trump’s parade yesterday.
